I think we can all want that but it's very unlikely

I fancy Rafa will surprise a few with his selection on Wednesday. I think he'll go attacking, 4-4-2 with Cisse and Crouch up top. He'll shock Mourhinio with something else, either Gerrard on the right or Kewell on the left or something out of the ordinary.
My feeling is that our manager is the one boss that "the special one" really respects and Rafa will keep him guessing with something or other. As if anybody cares and FWIW I have a notion that we will win both games.

we can hope bigmick :bowdown

i am convinced that we'll win the CL game but i'm not sure about the league game. the reason for that is, you can guarantee that barring injuries, chelsea's team will be the same for both matches. i don't think ours will be.

I would start this first team squads for Wednesday and Sunday respectively, providing the likes of Morientes and Mellor are back from injury:

                Reina

Finnan  Hyypia  Carragher  Warnock
Garcia  Sissoko  Alonso  Riise
                Gerrard
                 Crouch

SUBS: Carson, Cisse, Pongolle, Hamann, Traore, Josemi, Morientes.

                  Reina

Finnan  Carragher  Hyypia  Traore

Pongolle  Sissoko  Gerrard   Zenden

            Garcia  Cisse

SUBS: Carson, Alonso, Riise, Crouch, Josemi.

TBH Mick, I dodn't agree with that. While certainly Terry and Lampard will play both games, the size and quality of their squad means that they will almost certainly change at least two or three for the game on Sunday whereas we probably don't have the same depth.
This is one of the reasons that I think Rafa will attack on Wednesday. If he does and we win it will be a massive phsycological boost for Sunday, where I think he will go back to 4-5-1, but with Cisse as the one this time. It's all a guess but if I was Chelsea, that's what my money would be on.

What are the odds on two draws?  :D :D

Well first of all it is unlikely there will be many goals (hope there plenty though), the safe pundit is gonna go for 2 draws.

I definately fancy us taking something of them in the league game, a draw or maybe even a win. The Champions League game is a bit strange, and I expect both teams to end up with a credtible 1 point.

it will certainly be interesting to see bigmick. i only say this because so far this season the likes of gudjohnsen (who i rate more highly than crespo and drogba), SWP and joe cole have hardly got a look in. they're hardly rotating their starting lineup at all, with the exception of the main striker.

Jeez Mick I think Crespo is an absolutely fantastic striker. I agree that when they tried to use Drogba as a battering ram last season it roundly failed but Crespo is different altogether. One of the top strikers in the World today IMHO and Mourinho's most significant aquisition of the summer (notwithstanding the fact that he was already a Chelsea player anyhow).

I won't mind if we beat them 1:0 in both matches, as long 3 points in the bag ...

for the cl, me think it is going to be another tactical battle ala MU. another draw would most be the likely outcome.

the premiership, i fancy us to nick 3 points from them. i think rafa is going to attack this coming sunday.
