Carragher's beginning to annoy me

Hmmmmm, I also like Keane but his tally of clubs is a worry, if only we still had the kind of clout to bring Schevchenko in (dream on Si....!!). MoN bringing Henrik down for a couple of seasons would do it for me.....

I suppose every footballer ought to be grateful for any success they have, but I am sick of hearing about the six trophies. Two of them as JBG quite rightly points out were exhibition matches. The two league cups are not quite as impressive as the FA Cup and UEFA CUp, it speaks volumes about Liverpool at the moment that Carragher should be happy with medals for relatively minor achievements

I agree - Much of the team spend too much time on the ball. Carragher for all his obvious defensive qualities, takes an age to play the more simple passes. We very rarely play any one touch football or 1-2 football.

I'm sure the players we have are capable of playing this way but only if they are coached effectively - Something GH has not been able to do.

The key in everything you strive for in life is expectation.  If you set you expectations high then you may never reach your goal but at least you'll have done your best to be better than you are. If you set it low then you will be always unfulfilled.
Jamie Carragher has got better as a player but he's not in the class of other left backs in the country or Europe.  If Liverpool continue to try to acheive 4th place in the premiership he'll have a long career ahead of him with Houllier.  If the goal becomes bigger once more, then he may have to either adapt and improve or with many others move on.

If David Moores and Rick Parry sit down togather in two months time and say our expectation is the premiership title then the goal will be set.  Carragher and others will have to decide if they can rise and meet the challenge or will they become casualties of success.  Just as will Houllier himself.  Jamie may like the man or may like being selected by him, endearment is always a good tactic when you have a weak and stumbling manager, especially one who's ego craves to be liked.

Most of the players seem to get on with Houllier , and he doesnt suffer fools gladly . He gets rid of trouble eg Ruddock who now has a axe to grind . And he didnt take Bowyer . In some ways hes strong not weak .Of course players he drops dont like him as you would expect .
Hes made loads of mistakes we know that , but hes also done alot right , so i think we should support him till May then review then . No 4th spot or eufa cup and he walks alone .

I have also been saying that all the players barr Gerrard have lacked ambition and this is clearly visible on the pitch. However, I might be mistaken but both Carragher and Gerrard lept to Houlliers defence after the latest heat surrounding Houllier, and the graffiti incident. Some might say that this alone shows their lack of ambition but Gerrard must be, IS the most passionate player we have! My point is that he was purely defending the manger, just like Gerrard and the emotional hug...not stating his ambition. It is also important to remember that Carragher and Gerrard look to Houllier as the person that guided them into the first team so them defending Houllier is understandable. I believe that they are both ambitious enough...just banking on the wrong manager to get them there. IMO Gerrard, Kewell, Baros and Carragher are the only players still proud to wear the Red Shirt.

Do u praise them or fault them for that??

You cant say that because he does . Hes had to build a whole team over 5 years . Alot of great players left . He won 3 trophies in his first year , then his health scare . Hes trying his best . Im on the fence actually , but after the eufa win and the improved performances i think we must continue with him atleast till May . You it would seem just dont like him .

yeah well give him till the end of the season and then re-assess. the problem with houllier is he isn't a good judge of a football player. this talk of dalglish coming back is b#ll#cks. you never go back a second time. it doesn't work.

Last season I was disgusted when Carragher said that the season was not a failure and if someone had offered him a Worthington Cup medal and 5th place at the start of the season he would have taken it, that realy hurt me.

Since he has comeback from injury he has improved the attacking side of his game and has added some much needed deterimnation. In the past I have been a big critic but he has impressed me since recovering from his injury.

And I can't blame him for defending Houllier, and being loyal.

No, I can't blame him for defending Houllier, but like Has said, Carragher seems to think winning a League cup medal is a big achievement for Liverpool.

Would Steve Nicol, who played in carragher's position (albeit Nicol was a far better player) have been happy if he had a only league cup medal to show for a season of hard work?

Loyalty is a rare thing these days so its nice to have from Gerrard and Carragher of Houllier really . As for the likes of Nicol we might not see the likes of  that quality again .
Carraghers only a young man so im not surprised hes easily pleased by a smaller medal , but hes got plenty of time to get more . Needs to improve his control of the ball and distribution of it though.

carra, is a player with limited ability, so rightly so he is well made up with his six medels!!..cos a player with limited ability is grateful for anything!!!..sometimes i wonder about carras,i think he realizes that if GH goes another manager will see through him and tell him what most LFC fans know...that he will always be just an average player.(I wish he would get rid of that EFC tattoo he hides under those long sleeves) ???
