Bad draw - Juve

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

in my humble opinion, im quite pleased with the draw, seems to be a huge uproar that we got juventus but come off it wat did we expect, we r in the 1/4 final of the champions league, we are intent on playing there every season but when it comes we are afraid of the bigger teams, we are at this stage on merit and arent any worse off than juve (in the champions league), i honestly think we could beat them at home and defend defend defend at the stadio de api cos come on juventus arent the greatest attacking team, perhaps the most technical of italian sides, i think we could do it

Hi there,

I'm a Juve fan living in the US.
Italian, my granfather was an important Toro player and I am a diehard Juve fan. Funny, uh?

Anyways, the draw for us has been good. It's not gonna be easy, but it could have been worse.

It's gonna be hard, but if we win at Anfield, it's all over.

Juve and AC Milan are the CL favorites. I can't understand why Chelsea is that much overestimated. They went through against Barca but didn't deserve it at all.

Anyways, cheers guys. I hope there are gonna be just two great soccer games and nothing else outside.

as has been said, we were going to meet them at some point, might as well be in the Champions league Quater finals!

thing is...if only Real had beaten Juventus..... :suspect:

i think the key to that match with juventus is defending, i think if we can defend really well we have a chance, if not we will be knocked out, thats my opinion anyway

not that bad a draw!

If we score 1 or two goals at home (i dont care if it is a biscan double, ) then we have a slight chance if we kee the back door shut.

if we do similar to Leverkusen, we have a good chance.

There's going to be an element in their crowd that will need keeping well away from our travelling fans, but in the main you'll almost certainly find that their true fans will welcome ours with open arms. They're a proud football loving people, and many of them will doubtless know more about our team than some of the users here.

Heysel was a f*cking horrible, horrible day - I was 7 years old at the time and even now I've still got some of those images ingrained on my mind - but it's things like that that eventually bring people closer together. Lives were lost, families were ruined, and football in this country was given a harsh punishment which hurt the game over here for over half a decade. Our additional 2 year ban is almost certainly one of the reasons we went into such a decline during the 90s.

I just hope we can look back on the tie as a fitting commemoration to a bad, bad day, and that we're not here in mid-April with our heads in our hands for non-footballing reasons once again. I'm not going to dredge up the whats and who-dids of the day, but I genuinely think that this should be taken as an opportunity to show the Juventus fans that we're actually a fanbase that you can drink with before and after the game, and not the kind of people that need riot police four-men thick to keep us at opposite ends of a high street.

Walk on guys.

PS - all that said, I really wish we were at home for the second leg.

I am so weird up since the draw vs juventus,
I was there that day, at the heysel. I was 17 yrs old.

I hope you guys do not even think to come in masses to the match in Italy. And mostly, if there will any be troubles in Liverpool first... please pass on this...
If you think to come over for the match,  realize that If your team will pass or not the turn it wont make much difference.

I am italian, I am a juve fan ... but I was ex ultras hard core years ago.

I really hope that 20 years did change something, but I do remember,,,
.... riots used to be more between hooligans...of differents teams and police in the middle....

Now, 14yrs old kids go stabbing rivals while taking a leak ..

every week SADLY in italian matches there are fights, not much in stadium...  but the most frequents are cowardly attacks to some poor isolated moron that may wears the wrong scarf....

....guys... i almost lost the use of my right arm after a juve-roma.
and i was in a train station in milan...

so watch out and may the best team wun !

GOOD LUCK

Massimo

I think UEFA needs to put the foot down here.

They should state quite clearly that if their is violence at either game, then the club gets kicked out of Europe next season or something to that extent.

Of course that will not stop violence in the streets b4 and after the game, but may help.
