I think it was probably being a bit optimistic not taking your bus fare hom with you Judgie mate  ??? Did the possibility that they might give you feck all not even occur to you :D

I take your point though mate, must have been pretty annoying. 15 miles is a fair old schlip as well. Mind you, a young fit fella like yourself should have been able to strap the old Reeboks on and be home in time for the six O'Clock news   ???

They don't normally give Giro's out over the counter (except when its a N.F.A. case), they much prefer to send any giro's through the post. Although in cases of emergency (which Judge was claiming) they do occasionally make an exception.

Maybe if Judge had explained that he had spent all his redundancy money on expensive hookers they might have been a little more sympathetic.

stupidest comment ever.
We should our country, where we have been our entire lives, before of some fat chavs and a government that won't sort it out?

worst thing people can do is run away from the problem, needs to be sorted out head on.

the reason our system is so fecked is because everyone is moving here to take advantage anyways!

Wouldnt have the first clue how the benefit system works but i remember being extremely pi.ssed off with that fat chav who was on wife swap who earnt 36 grand in benefits and said why should she go to work when she is given so much money by the government - getting more money than me just for sitting on her fat a.rse getting pregnant every two years - she even stated if she needed more money she would just get pregnant again - waste of space

you fu'ckers, especially s@int :D

i'd rung them up and it was them who said to come in!!

they said even though i'd spent the money on a solicitor for my divorce, that couldnt be calculated into the equation. they knew this before i went. i even told them who said i should come in. the next thing they said was - could i borrow the money to see me thru. i guess that was s@ints idea   :D .

the following day i went to the local benefits office in my town, as an advisor was there from leeds office. i appealed their decision, and i won. 4 hours later i was back at leeds (on borrowed bus fare), and got a cheque for £230, which i cashed at the main post office in city square. all that hassle for nothing.

4 weeks after that i was in the army, 1 month following that, i'd paid it all back to the DSS.

my argument was that no ar'se from outside this country should get anything, when they have not contributed to our system whatsoever. that nigerian had just entered the country cause she didnt want to stay in her own country, not because there was something bad going on there. Then you should ask yourself, why didnt the DSS take off what she mustve paid to get here in the first place?? that was disposable income ???

no fu'ck off you lot and have some sympathy for me  :D

What should they do with the woman then ? She is over here with no money, no where to stay and no food. Leave her to starve or sell herself on the streets or maybe send her back home?

I agree it seems wrong, but its parliament and the immigration department that should be blamed. They should ensure that only people with a job or adequate finances are allowed in. (apart from people who's life would be in danger in their own country)

I do have sympathy for you mate, and I am glad that things worked out well for you...... but I still wouldn't have given you any money  :D

It makes it even sadder when people who seriously want work but have to claim unemployment get put in the same bracket as the scum

I agree 100%

Plenty of good people on the dole today. Plenty of scumbags in the dole culture though, who never worked, whose parents never worked etc - pure parasites.

By and large I think the attention on the benefit question overlooks the real problems here; if you can successfully deal with the lack of adequate employment, training and education (+ associated issues), that tie in with the broader issues of social deprivation and the wider economy, you indirectly deal with the benefit question - since most will work given the opportunity to do so. The system may need tinkering, but not to the extent that you risk plunging families into a greater degree of poverty, or worse the kids whose parents refuse to work. That's be plainly counterintuitive.

Whats wrong with a bit of adventure in your life eh?

I left my country, primarily because of these sort of problems (unemployment, :censored: benefits, Political instability, etc...) and I really don't regret it, as I found a better place that helps me fulfill my career potential and offers me better opportunities.

so whats wrong with that?
