UK Storms Claim First Victim Thursday January 18th, reuters
A man has been killed after a branch fell through his car windscreen. The accident happened in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, as the high winds lashed parts of the UK. The 54-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene on the B4373 at 5.45am.
Murray MacGregor, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "The crew found a large branch had fallen from a tree onto the road.
"Part of it had gone into the windscreen of a 4x4 car.
"They immediately started resuscitation attempts, but it became apparent that despite all their efforts it was not possible to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene."
A second driver, in his 30s, who was travelling in the other direction, also collided with the branch, but was not injured.

Just looked out the window into my garden and the patio tables and chairs are all over the garden. I've got a conservatory and if they blew into the glass in that, I'm fucked so I'm going to have to sort that shortly.
Also, I got pissed last night and had to leave my car in the car park of the boozer up the road and I've got to walk up and get it. Too windy outside though for me to be bothered moving off my arse though.
