Anyone seen Slumdog Millionaire yet?

Its a choice of that or "Che" at the pictures.

Cant say slumdog millionaire sounds too appealing,WTF is it?...Aint seen neither but I'd go for Che! :nod

Slumdog is supposed to be very good, British Film based in India....

Some of the actors were just on the streets and asked to play parts for minimal money.
The thing is, any film is made to sound good these days, it's hard to tell most the time.

Felt a bit "wrong" after watching that.

All's I could think of was the emergency services wasting time when the ambulance and bizzies were on the way to help Bianca.

I know that the lad was slow and all that and that the message of the film was about all the nice people rallying round to support him and that, but I was just a little bit uncomfortable watching that.

People aren't that nice where I'm from...

Just watched a classic fight club , starring brad pitt . It's a very different show , based on a book although the book and movie are totally different anwyayz its a little confusing but deffo worth the time to watch . 8/10

Just been to Blockbuster and got The Mist, Juno and 21, that Vegas scammers film with Kevin Spacey.

jm - Juno is a good little film.

Just been myself and got Libero (Italian) - quite good but a bit solemn.

Gonna watch "Lives of Others" (German) in a bit - I heard a few say it was their film of 2008 on "Film 2008" last year.

Was gonna get 21, but went for these.

This is not a 'things that make you jump' horror film, despite an early red herring. It's more of a suspenseful and brutally violent horror that makes you squirm in your seat, taking advantage of the recent 'horror' stories of gangs, asbos and knife crime. We're all afraid a group of mean looking kids will randomly choose us to inflict their sadistic hatred on, though as this film acknowledges early on, as long as you keep to yourself, they might be annoying, but they won't hurt you. This is the clever aspect of this film, while it has the usual blood thirsty chases in the woods, there is an issue and a point this film is trying to address. Why are these kids like this? Are the parents to blame? Or any other adults? What role does the media play? The film makes many points and hints without ever singling out a definitive reason, until, perhaps the ending. What is clear though is the high number of innocent casualties, a clear indication from writer-director James Watkins of the real effects of this violent culture.

Couldnt sleep all night after watching it bazza, it really played on my mind cause it could happen thats what was scary about it

just had a gander at the trailer on youtube. it looks well nasty.

Watched Role Models last night, funny film lots of crude humor though a bit dirty so not really one for the ladies, well most ladies.

Just finished watching The Lives of Others"

I was watching Film 2008 at the end of last year, and they were asking writers/critics what were their favourite films of the year.
A few mentioned this, so I got it out tonight.

It says on the DVD box it was an Academy Award Winner.
Im not sure what for - but I wouldn't be surprised if it was best story category or something.

It is a truly majestic story. 2.5 hours long, but I was gripped from first second to the very last second.
Literally.

I defy anyone to watch this film and come back on here and say it wasn't brilliant.

Honestly, if you go into Blockbusters and are wondering what to watch, get this.
Just ask them at the desk, they'll find it for you.

Whenever I go in to Blockbusters I hate the way they have loads of the hyped films - you know the shallow Van Diesel sh!te etc.

Im rarely impressed by films, it takes a lot for me to say a film is brilliant.
But this is.

I'll check this thread to see if anyone sees it.

I can categorically say - you are missing something if you don't watch it.

Juno - nice little feelgood film. Would recommend.

The Mist - Usually hate Stephen King films as the visual effects are always rubbish. For some reason, I proper enjoyed this one. Was falling asleep watching it at one point then it just grabbed my attention. Really enjoyed it.

21 - I went to Las Vegas for a week last August. I want to now win the lottery and the first thing I will be doing is spending six months solid out there. Decent film, will be on the lookout for the book when I get my reading head back on. Haven't read a book in months. I go through spells like this...

Got nothing to watch tonight. Well, I've got Kiss Kiss Bang Bang but I've seen it before... Quite a funny film...

Seven Pounds - Great movie Will Smith was great in it as usual with his roles.

Gran Torino - Another solid clint eastwood movie, lots of no name supporting actors but he holds up the movie fine by himself.
