Watched Blood Diamond the other day. This is a very good film.

Also saw The Day the Earth Stood Still. This was rubbish though it had the potential to be a good film.

From IMDB
This is not a 'things that make you jump' horror film, despite an early red herring. It's more of a suspenseful and brutally violent horror that makes you squirm in your seat, taking advantage of the recent 'horror' stories of gangs, asbos and knife crime. We're all afraid a group of mean looking kids will randomly choose us to inflict their sadistic hatred on, though as this film acknowledges early on, as long as you keep to yourself, they might be annoying, but they won't hurt you. This is the clever aspect of this film, while it has the usual blood thirsty chases in the woods, there is an issue and a point this film is trying to address. Why are these kids like this? Are the parents to blame? Or any other adults? What role does the media play? The film makes many points and hints without ever singling out a definitive reason, until, perhaps the ending. What is clear though is the high number of innocent casualties, a clear indication from writer-director James Watkins of the real effects of this violent culture.

Well worth a look! :nod

Finally got round to watching that one myself the other day and I have to say that it's the best thing that Pixar have produced to date.
I thought that they'd struggle to make the characters involving with very little speech but they have achieved it spectacularly.
A lot of these CGI films are all graphics and no story but as usual Pixar have delivered astounding visuals along with a fantastic story and it keeps kids of all ages entertained.

9.5/10

Just watched the French war film Intimate Enemies about a French platoon fighting a dirty war against the FLN in Algerian war of independence of 1950s.
While some what cliche in parts, its for those who like gritty war movies well worth the watch

Yeah that movie looks really scary in the sense of you feeling paranoid and like you're in danger all the time, crazy film.

Lars and the real girl is a very cool, slightly surreal, sweet weird kooky film. i liked it.

I thought Benjamin Button was an interesting film enough, and a good story in it's own right, but at the end of it I couldn't help wonder what the point of the film was. I mean, sure enough it had it's romantic overtones, but regardless of these, it was certainly a "curious" case of a film. Somewhat odd, not unlike Pitt's other oddity of a film called Meet Joe Black.
