Yep....it was bloody hard to eat it though, seeing as it was still attached to him...

:D

Pigs trotters, had some a few weeks back, prepare them right, lovely stuff, butcher didn't even charge me for them.

:)

when i first moved to barcelona and hadn't quite mastered the difference between catalan and castellano i took a visiting friend of mine to a slightly trendy restaurant to try and impress her. i nonchalantly ordered marinated pieces of pork, or at least i thought i did. i then had to spend the next hour trying to look cool while i tried to find some edible part of this fecking great pigs foot that appeared in front of me. nor was there any respite in the side dishes as i accidentally ordered a bowl of little pickled eels as well.

Get up! everybody's gonna move their feet
Get Down! everybody's gonna leave their seat

One day you have to send me a PM about how you lived with Catalan's obsession towards their local language .

While I master my own local language and see languages as a culture treasure, I always found the Catalan's policies too insisting.

On the pig, what can I say? what people say here, you can use every part of the pig, from the trotters, to the legs (jamon), to the blood (morcilla), the chorizos, and even the face of the pig is good if you like it (I don't).

I'm sorry for Joe but I have to have a go on some of the ultraconservative americans.

Some famous people and journos there have attacked the Mexicans even calling them "infectious desease carrying emigrating criminals"

The Americans are sometimes very fond of putting a nationality to a disease. We could mention here the "Spanish flu" of 1918.

Well the first case of the "Spanish" flu was not in Madrid, but in Kansas, near Fort Rilley.

Why was it called the Spanish flu then? because Americans and English didn't talk about the deads of the flu since they were at World War I and didn't want to bring the morale down.

Since Spain was neutral in that war and the Spanish press did talk about it, the americans were quick to do that thing they do often, pick a virus, and assign it a nationality, which of course wasn't the correct one, but if that virus had to have a nationality at all it would be "American", or from Kansas, if you want to be specific.

It's a shame that some bástards will use anything to fuel the xenophobia.

I had honestly forgotten about swine flu. I guess it's not quite as bad as they thought (at least I hope not)

has anyone heard about more outbreaks?
