Calling computer genius's! - Consistancy check!?

I have a problem with my computer at home, every time i try to get into windows, a consistancy check (green screen) appears, does anybody out there know th reasoning for this and how to cure it!!? ta very much

I get that sometimes whenever i dont switch the comp off properly ie the start/shutdown .

Yeah same happens to mine! Dont think its anything serious though!Windows seems to run fine as long as you update and restart your P/C when prompted!

thanks, but now mine is at a stage when it does not log into windows at all!!? please help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Restart it and keep pressing F2 until the BIOS screen appears, go to BOOT and press F9 "setup defaults" then hit enter for yes, then hit F10 to save and exit, this should restart the machine on default startup configuration. I've just had a load of sh!t with mine and this seems to do the trick if it's playing silly buggers    :)

Another solution would be to start the machine in Safe Mode by pressing F8 or F11 (depending on your machine) and this will almost certainly load your PC with absolute minimum settings (i.e. it will only have some basic options available and there will be little or no colours in your desktop.) Run Scandisk to check for errors. The best possible solution is to use System Restore (its in the programes menu) to restore your PC to an earlier date when it was definitely working).
