so a return to Italy is unlikely

LOL I came in here to post the same thing after watching a rebroadcast of the game. Crazy match, a lot of fun though.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Inter's back in the hunt.... 3rd placed and only 5 points from the top with a game in hand.
If they win, they'll be in 2nd place.

Quite a turnaround. Shows that they always were a quality team.

Napoli look a great bet for the title this season... Their attacking players are absolutely magnificent and Cavani is easily one of the best forwards in world football today.. Scores all sorts of goals and works hard for his side at both ends of the pitch... They also have Hamsik who is becoming one of the best creative midfielders around despite only being 22 or something and Lavezzi who is getting international recognition with the recent callup to the Argentinian squad..

We could do worse than signing one of their star players imo...

Serie A surprisingly has more players with natural talent than any other league in Europe imo.. Sides like Palermo, Lazio, Napoli,  and Udinese who usually arent up there at the top of the league all have players who imo would easily make it into the starting 11s of some of the biggest sides in Europe....

Pastore, Balzaretti, Hernanes, Alexis Sanchez...etc etc all young players with tons of promise who imo would improve the best of sides in Europe if given the chance...

Thing is most of those players (well at least Pastore and Sanchez) will move to either England or Spain in the next few years. Italy has talanted players but I think it's more of a holding ground these days for foreign players until they get snapped up from either the premier league or la liga.

Remember seeing a few FIO fans who signed up when we played them in the CL a few years back. No resident ones AFAIK.

I actually like Cavani more than Lavezzi as a player. Cavani is a classic type of out and out center forward. Great in the air, strong and a sweet finish.

It was a great experience but the football wasnt great. Roma are a very poor side, they had nothing upfront and Napoli were quite happy to sit back and hit them on the break.

The stadium was only half full but the support was still good. The ultras kept in good voice for he whole match waving flags and setting off flares but as soon as Napoli go the second with 10 mins to go the stadium just emptied

Here are some photos....
