Maradona gets argentina job - How long will this last.....

International Football/Football World Wide - General Discussion

I don't doubt he knows his football, back when he was in Spain he had quite an eye for young footballers, if Maradona said this lad is good, he usually turned it to be.

But he's very emotional, and the environment surrounding Argentinian football is very tough, nothing to do with Europe. One could remember the different schools of Bilardistas and Menottistas and how they were antagonical. It's probably one of the countries most difficult to coach: They always expect success and the atmosphere surrounding the football is very hot.

I don't know how Maradona will face the press and the pressure, how will react to criticism and how he'll be able to isolate from criticism and take the best decission.

He has a football mind, tactics can be learned, but you need personality too, and I'm afraid Diego Armando was a man to be in the pitch rather than in the bench. We'll see though ! :D

If I were in charge of Argentina:
                        Carrizo
      Garay        Milito        Heinze
          Cambiasso        Mascherano
Maxi                 Riquelme                 Messi
              Tevez                  Agureo

Subs: Abbondanzieri, Demichelis, Zanetti, Veron, Lavezzi, D. Milito, Cruz
In Camp: Lucho Gonzalez, Aimar, Cavenaghi, Palacio, Diaz, Gago, Leo Franco, Burdisso, Lisandro Lopez, Gutierriez, Belluschi, Higuian, and D'Alessandro :D

Surely favorites for the world cup if all fit.

His (Maradonas) first competitive game (and first at home in Argentina) was against Venezuela at the end of March and they won 4-0. Mascherano was brilliant - completely controlling the midfield, while Messi showed why he's one of the best. I watched it on www.omnisport.tv. I think they've got the Bolivia Argentina game on the 1st. Should be interesting.
