Luis Suarez signs for Barcelona

A classic case of 'you don't appreciate what you've got till you lose it'.

He isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but you cannot simply disregard the fact that he is a world-class player, perhaps not a prolific striker, but definitely a world-class player.

There's nothing wrong with expressing sentiment, but don't let that sentiment prevent you from enjoying what Suarez brings to us.

You will regret it when he's gone.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a prolific diver but never got the stick like Suarez has.

It is part of the game, probably since the beginning of football.

Don't like it? then go watch lawn bowl.

No no no, the reputation was not made by Suarez it was 100% manufactured by Ferguson. I'm surprised he doesn't start suing for defamation of character, he should do.

It doesn't matter how or where Suarez hs gotten his reputation, the point is that he has a reputation, a reputation that was further inscribed last season. It's getting to the point where it seems as though we are losing more points with Suarez then we are gaining with him and if that's the case then something needs to be done. I don't want Suarez to be sold, but I don't want us dropping points because referees are refusing to give Luis the benefit of the doubt. He only has himself to blame as far as I'm concerned. Nobody has made him try and wind Evra up, no one made him stick his middle finger up to Fulham fans and nobody has forced him to cheat and simulate in and around the 18 yard box. He's done this himself, I'm afraid! He needs to do what Drogba did and clean up his act. The reason people keep having a pop at Luis is simple. Luis refuses to change and Suarez therefore gives his critics more ammunition to use against him and us. I believe referees should give all players the benefit of the doubt, but with Suarez you're never entirely sure if he has gone down legitimately or illegitimately, therefore a referee cannot give the decision unless he is 100% sure. So if Suarez isn't getting decisions, that's because referees aren't sure whether or not he is trying to con them.

Im getting to the stage where I dont care any more. It is obvious that Suarez has become like marmite: you either love him or hate him. Those that hate him are typically opposition fans, and with good reason. I would rather him not play against my team if I were a supporter because of the damage he could potentially do. Therefore I would look to demonise him for something most, if not all strikers do: try to gain an advantage. Is diving worse than stamping on someone? Is deliberately pulling someone in the box worse than handling the ball and getting away with it? Is snapping someone in a tackle on the halfway line worse than elbowing someone in the face? The list goes on: taking a throw in 10 yards further down the pitch from where the ball went out, not standing ten yards back from a free kick, feigning injury by rolling around the floor to get a player sent off. Dont talk about football being "fair and honest" because it isnt and never has been. This hypocrisy is sickening and those who are isolating and targetting Suarez aught to be ashamed of themselves. The cu'nty media with their sensation-seeking, ignorant journalists have to take much of the blame. But also the likes of purple nose, pulis and moyes have done more than their fair share of sh'it stirring and Suarez bashing.
I am honestly thinking now that the pr'ick who give offside against him on sunday either did it on purpose because it was Suarez, or subconsciously because it was Suarez. Either way its cheating and should have been highlighted by the club, supporters and ex players who are pundits. It should be unacceptable, but in the stinking, rotten world of football it is encouraged, but only if its against Suarez.
Fu'ck the lot of them!

There was a huge shift in Drogba's behaviour when he has highlighted as being a serial diver, the same with Fernando Torres. I don't think I can name one attacking footballer who doesn't try and gain an advantage through simulation and I abhor it, it's not honest behaviour and all too often it affects the outcome of a football match which is something I don't want to see and feel replused when I do see it. Suarez has a reputation, is he a worse diver than Bale, Young, Nani or Valencia? I wouldn't say so, but they for whatever reason do not have a reputation, Suarez does. Also I am not interested in what happens to other clubs and other players, I am only interested in what we're doing and what are players do and Suarez's past behaviours have affected us directly. He should have had a penalty against United and didn't get one, because of his reputation. He should have had a penalty against Arsenal, but didn't get one because of his reputation. He should have had a penalty against Norwich but didn't get one because of his reputation. Had we gotten the penalty against Arsenal and United, the outcomes of those two matches could have been very different. When one of our players actions results in us being penalised and dropping points then I feel I have every right to feel aggrieved and could so easily be prevented if Suarez stopped simulation. Unfortunately it seems part of his game and I just fear for future results if Suarez doesn't change and start staying on his feet.

It never ceases to amaze me how some can excuse people in authority who are clearly acting unfairly by saying that someone has a "reputation", as if thats a valid reason to treat them differently. I dont condone cheating but we have been told numerous times that strikers have the right to "gain an advantage" like wellbeck did for england when he got the penalty against san morino. No matter how you butter it up the referees and linesmen have got it in for Suarez and this "reputation" bullsh'it gives them the power to discriminate against him. Yes, it should be discussed and sorted IN OUR CLUB AND BY OUR MANAGER. Not in the press or by referees and certainly not by our own fans who are being gullible tw@ts by going along with the whole stinking fiasco.
