great free kick today and good all round performance against the champions, he`s played 2 prem games and scored 1 goal, if he keeps that strike rate up throughout the season we`ll be there or thereabouts next may.

I was suprised he took that free kick today. I thought gerrard would take it.
Anyway, it makes up for the half dozen chances he scuffed v west brom.

I'd like to point out, it seems as if his free kick taking has improved since last season. He had a few shots from free kicks so far this season and they were all close with one being a goal, while last season his free kicks seemed like they were miles above the crossbar.

Unfortunately, it got overshadowed a bit by Skrtel's clanger but Suarez's free kick was out of the very top drawer and was worthy of winning any match.  More importantly, it was his first goal of the season and will hopefully help settle the nerves he admitted to having in his recent interview.  He didn't have his best game in a red shirt yesterday but he still is an absolutely vital cog in the Liverpool machine and that goal will have done him a world of good.

The most wasteful player ever in a red shirt?
An absolute shocker there today

That really was a terrible performance that even a Championship player would be ashamed with. Shocking.

what do you expect when he`s basically playing up front on his own? 4-3-3 my @rse it`s 4-5-1, borini and sterling spend half the game tracking back to the edge of our box, what type of `forwards` do that?
suarez looked at his best last season in the 3-0 game against everton at anfield or the 4-1 against chelsea when the opposition CB`s spend the game in an arm wrestling contest with carroll and suarez just roamed around causing havoc, when luis pulls out wide now (which he likes to do) there`s no one in the middle.

What do I expect him to do? Instead of consistently trying to take on several players every time he gets the ball I expect him to get his head up and bring others into play. Suarez and Gerrard are trying to do everything at 100MPH and have no concept of building a move and allowing the team to move up the pitch gradually after repelling an attack. Tactically they were awful today. Even 17 year old Sterling showed more understanding of how to play.

very very wasteful player.
i dont know what most are hoping for with luis because it isnt like he has just suddenly lost his goalscoring touch is it?.
he never had one and has spent 18mths now trying to aqquire it and it doesnt look like its coming any time soon.
another role has to be found for him as he cannot continue leading the line for us with that strike rate.
he's a brilliant player but not worth a sh1t in front of goal.

a slow build up for what? when the defence is back and set you`ve got no chance of passing through them, what happens then? we cross a percentage ball in to our five foot seven forwards? or we take long range pot shots like shelvey did?
suarez had a bad game but he`s getting no help from the system or the other so called forwards, borini and sterling hug the touchline, he hasnt got a strike partner to work with.

So according to you the only time teams score a goal is on the counter attack? And you claim to have watched the Liverpool teams of the 70s and the 80s! Go back and watch how those teams respected possession and built their moves.

ThIng is, although his finishing is terrible question marks also have to be asked about his general play which has been abysmal this season. He hardly ever passes the ball and defenders have started to read this, every time he got the ball today even I could tell what he was going to do before he even did it.  People talked about Garcia being frustrating but IMO Suarez has taken it to another level against Hearts on Thursday and Arsenal today.

No ones doubts Suarez's inherent ability BUT increasingly given our overall performances I can't make up my mind whether he's a luxury the team can't afford or a liability we can do without.   :(

I felt he was so unlucky last year, but now Im wondering if thats just the way he is? Im not a fan of statistics but his goal to games ratio musnt be good reading?
I had concerns that the incident with the little cu'nt who happens to be black and the aftermath would take its toll on Suarez. Now I believe it has, probably more than we could have imagined. He is still getting stick and I think its having a detrimental efect on him. He denies it but subconsciously its hurt him and is interfering with his decisions on the pitch.
I dont know the answer to this problem but Rodgers needs to address it asap
