my sentiments exactly....Jesus I'd love to see a player like - or even - him, back in a red shirt...

suarez left borini centre and gerrard right is our best shot of goals this season.had we of went with that as a front 3 with lucas(sitting) while allen and shelvey did the supporting we would have probably got a better result.
carroll can be rotated with borini in that system offers us a completely different threat in matches and would have bagged at least 2 of those chances suarez spurned.

i honestly dont think borini is physically up to that job mate, you take a lot of stick from central defenders playing that position and i dont think he could hold the ball up with the likes of terry or shawcross clambouring all over his back. he`s only 21 and not used to that style of footy (i think he played as a wide forward for roma).
maybe he just had a bad day at the office but he looked very lightweight today

Suarez was very frustrating to watch... he took on the whole of West Brom's defence too many times, lost possession, or couldn't convert his chances. Borini gave a nice lob to him and he headed it wide...
Suarez should be playing on the wide and creating chances for other players and Borini in centre...

Yes. Suarez will always be frustrating to watch but what options do we have. We had no width and West Brom knew that and packed the middle with physical player. Many times were indeed a fault but tough as they got the ref on their side. So, Suarez can only take on the defense by himself as we lack tricky players. the deeper problem still exist as we are not physically enough. Recall we always had problem playing against a more physical team. If we don't resolve this, we are in to a long season. I think our defense is tough enough but can't expect the back four to hold off the whole team on the other side. I'm sure opponent will continue to take on this strategy until we can show can go neck to neck physically. Our midfield is not mobile enough or tough enough to play only 3 across.

He doesnt exactly get a lot of support in the box.
He creates many of the chances all alone by going past 2-3 defenders, but when its time to shoot the defenders have got him off balance.
I'd like to see borini in the centre as well.

Suarez cant finish his Breakfast. But there were a few who just had a stinker

Liverpool/American Hierachial board need to buy Quality and stop Gambling on Potential. And that goes for Managers as well as players.

I think it is important to consider the fact that Suarez is quite clinical with Uruguay. I don't know what the difference is, maybe just bad luck with Liverpool? However, he seems to score a lot with Uruguay. Maybe it may be Uruguay's set up or some of the players that are around him, etc. However, it is encouraging when you see him with Uruguay because not only is he showing that skill of beating players and creating space, he also is finishing his chances.

I think it is important that we get some other world class around him. Right now he has Borini and Downing. Now, Borini should have some patience as he is still young and he has a lot of promise, however Downing is Sh*t. Suarez cannot keep doing everything on his own. He needs one or two more world class players around him. The only threat that we have up front is Suarez and teams know this. They have two players on him all the time that makes things different - having another top player around him would be beneficial.

I bet you if we had a striker like Torres, Owen or Fowler in front of Suarez, Mascherano, Gerrard or Alonso behind him and have decent wide players, then Suarez would be knocking in the goals. As Mart says Suarez often has to calve out his own chances because such is the lack of service or poor service he is presented with from midfield. That said nobody can deny that Suarez at Liverpool at least has been extremely wasteful in front of goal.

Really hope he isn’t used as a number 9 this year. Sure he can play the role but I think he is far more effective when someone else is the furthest man forward.

The only option to either play Borini or Carroll and I don't think either player has the kind of quality in front of goal that Fowler or Owen had for us, even Torres for that matter.

Gary McAllister reckons we'll struggle this season without a 'natural goal scorer' and I think he's right.

How many other teams have a natural goalscorer?

It depends how you define a natural goalscorer. A natural goalscorer to me is someone who puts away most of their chances across the season. We seem to have strikers who cannot score on a consistent basis and that's problematic.

A natural goalscorer to me is someone like Robbie Fowler, knows how to score, one on ones usually end up with a goal, and half chances dont exist. I dont think a natural goalscorer exists in todays game. Our problem isnt Suarez, our problem is our entire team. None of them are consistent when it comes to putting the ball in the back of the net.

Heres a question, where is our goalscoring midfielder?

Very true, but against West Brom, critical chances fell to Suarez and he failed to convert them all. We need a striker who may only get two chances to score all match, but who will put both chances away, someone like Michael Owen.
