Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

That's good news. To be honest, I think he's really upped his game under Klopp, made Sakho's absence unnoticeable. If he keeps this up I can see a Lovren-Sakho partnership in the future.

Good news for us and Lovren. He is one player who has truly improved since Klopps arrival. I don't feel as nervous at the back anymore with him playing, however, he still looks like he could Lovren himself. Speedy recovery.

What has happened to him under Klopp?! He actually looks like he might be worth the money we paid for him if he keeps this up! Thought he was excellent today, nothing went past him. Took care of dangerous situations even before they could develop. Could see a partnership of him and Sakho in the near future.

I think Kopp has sent him back to basics. Instead of attempting suicidal passes or flicks along the back line, he's clearing the danger and protecting the keeper. Keeping it simple!

Still think he's short of a topnotch defender. But pleased to see him improve.

One thing about him is that he is the best defender we have in the air and defending against direct teams is undoubtably our Achilles heel so in a way it makes sense to play him. As Damjan says him and Sakho could potentially be a decent partnership, Leicester have been ripping teams apart all season and I thought we dealt with them pretty comfortably today.

Fair play to Lovren. I've criticised quite a lot in the past but under JK he has shown some good form and let's hope he carries on and makes that CB spot his own

good game yesterday, played his heart out.
one thing he needs to work on is his clearance in the box, be it defensive headers or normal clearing.

Fair play to him. Keeps this up until end of season and he'll save his LFC career.

At the moment Lovren-Sakho is the best partnership.

He will need to keep the good performances up for the rest of the season to convince me he is worth the money and has what it takes to play for a club with ambition. The lad has a few years already in this league and should be playing to a better standard more consistently than he does. If I'm being honest I don't think he is mentally strong enough to be the mainstay in our defence for years to come.

Dejan back in full training and raring to take his place back in the centre of our defence should bring a lot more composure at the back ,Sakho and him seem to compliment each others game. Hoping he's thrown back in soon ,but would love to see Ilori given the chance to partner either of them.

He dealt with everything very well, held the line alongside Sakho far more naturally than Skrtel, and used the ball sensibly.  Hopefully we’ll see more of the same when he gets more opportunities.

This was his first good performance of the season and he has been very consistent since. Just concentrating on the basics rather than trying to be the next Beckenbauer has done wonders for his form. Look forward to having him back on weekend to add some aerial ability to our side.

I half changed my mind about him, but after last nights calamitous performance I was proven right. He is weak and clueless and both goals were directly caused by his deficiencies.
