Yeah, I've got mixed feelings over this one.

The lad showed lots of promise , so much so that some of us were saying "who needs Sterling".

As you say Ibe looks to have gone backwards, he certainly hasn't pushed on BUT I'd be happy to a least give him another season under Kloppo and see if he can step up to the plate.

Agree ,seems to be a pretty harsh decision the lad has loads of talent however his decision making and maybe mental readiness wasn't their...But i doubt it can't be worked and fixed and of course with experience comes wisdom...So unless Klopp found out that the lad is a total idiot for me it's an idiotic decision.

i trust Klopp on this one... I was one of those who said he could replace Sterling... but after watching him last season, he is as one dimensional as Sterling, maybe more. He plays with his head down and runs into bl8nd alleys. The most he can develop into is Milan Baros...

I believe we got the right valuation though, he's just worth that much, nothing more nothing less...

I disagree.

Ibe hasn't shown anything to prove he's good enough and £15m ( ) is a ridiculous amount of money for him. Selling him is a no brainer when we have Ojo waiting in the wings. He's much better in my book and would probably have been ahead of him in the pecking order anyway.

Good business i say. Were picking up some decent money. Ibe has potential and as maby thought who needs Sterling. But i think this is best for both parties. Maybe loan would have been a better option.

The sale of Ibe on the back of other lads from what is loosely called development ranks is a sign the bars been raised and the club will not keep offering new contracts to people, no matter how old, who dont contribute, or at least show firms signs they have star quality.

Exactly. And who better to judge than Klopp?

That all sounds well and good mate but didn't Jurgen give Kevin Stewart a new 5 year deal midway through last season?
If the bar has been raised it hasn't been lifted very high.

Echo reporting we have inserted a buy back clause into the contract, so if he does set the world alight we can get him back

Didnt know he had given Stewart 5 years, crazy that and no idea what the additional incentive is there for the kid when hes that bagged up for reserve team footy and training.

Thought we would protect ourselves with the Ibe sale, 15m when 7m can buy you Blasczykowski

Ah, that changes things, as long as that buyback clause is watertight it might not be such a bad deal after all.

Ibe was another player who benefited when Suarez was playing at the top of his game for Liverpool. Sterling fell into the same category. This season Ibe has not progressed and has looked poor most of the time. £15m is a reasonable deal for a lad who certainly hasn't proved himself yet. Time will tell just how good this deal is.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years (10 years
are in brackets)
LFC £255m (£467m)
Everton £38m (£287m)
Arsenal £645m6 (£925m)
Spurs £510m (£541m)
Chelsea £788m (£1007m)
Man City £307m (£1012m)
Man United £702m (£1249m)

I know he's only 20 but last season he was given plenty of chances and he was abysmal in all of those games. With all the forwards we have and with only the league and the cup to play for, moving him on was the best decison, with a buy back clause just in case. The money we got for him is ridiculous, but that's today's market for you I guess.

I don't think Ibe will become any better than he us now, and I'm sure Klopp has the same opinion. I've watched him the last 3 years and like people have already stated he's not progressed he's gone backwards. I think £15m is bang on his valuation so hopefully he can get first team action elsewhere.
