Liverpool, Southampton, Hull, and Celtic have all checked on Molde goalkeeper Orjan Nyland.

The 24-year-old Norway international has a £2.3million clause in his contract and was the subject of a failed bid from Everton in January.

Nyland is playing in his third season with Molde and has made 11 appearances for the Norwegian national side.

Liverpool are still exploring the possibility of signing free agent Norberto Neto from Fiorentina who was set to join Juventus but are weighing up alternatives.

Liverpool are set to sign Rennes winger Paul Georges Ntep in a surprise transfer deal, according to reports.

Ntep, who has been scouted by Arsenal in recent months, is one of French football's most exciting talents.

And now L'Equipe says he's set to sign for Liverpool after visiting their Melwood training centre for talks.

The 22-year-old has apparently been on Merseyside twice in the last 10 days, and is keen to sign on the dotted line.

A speedy forward with pace and energy, Ntep has scored 14 goals in 35 games since joining Rennes from Auxerre last year.

We are just linked with young lads or average players that will not take us where we all dream to go.

Bayern Munich are the latest club to join the race for Liverpool and Manchester City target Felipe Anderson.

Both Premier League clubs are keeping close tabs on the £30million-rated Lazio midfielder, who has scored 10 goals in 28 Serie A games this term.

PSG and Barcelona are also keen to prise the Brazilian away from Lazio, where he recently signed a contract until 2020.

However, now Bayern Munich are ready to make their move and hope to tempt Lazio by offering to loan him back for a season before taking him to the Allianz Arena in 2016.

Liverpool aren't going Depay for winger

May as well get all the puns out now given the news coming out of Holland that Memphis Depay has chosen to join Manchester United.

United have agreed a 30million euro deal with Depay's club PSV but an agreement hasn't been reached with the player yet.

The only surprise of this transfer tale is Tottenham Hotspur haven't made a late bid. And then been gazumped by Chelsea.

Liverpool FC have lost out to Manchester United in the battle to sign PSV Eindhoven winger Memphis Depay.

The Reds had held talks with the exciting Holland international over a potential £25million transfer to Anfield and made him a contract offer.

Depay had also met representatives of Paris Saint-Germain as he weighed up his options.

However, the 21-year-old has instead opted to make the switch to Old Trafford where he will be reunited with his former international boss Louis van Gaal.

United made their move on Wednesday with Van Gaal speaking directly with Depay and once the player had made his mind up the club quickly agreed a fee with PSV.

Depay informed his PSV team-mates of his decision at training today. Pending the successful completion of the medical, the deal will go through once the transfer window opens in June.

Losing out on Depay, whose 21 league goals this term have fired PSV to the Eredivisie title, is a considerable blow to Liverpool’s summer recruitment plans.

That's the problem when trying to sign top players, we are behind other clubs in the pecking order.

I'm not surprised about Depay. A young player. LVG or BR? A no brainer really.

Nice, turn it into a dig at Rodgers, don't let the fact that Old Trafford has been a more favourable destination for top players for almost a quarter of a century now get in the way.

No doubt we will go spend £50-£60 million on Bolasie and Benteke.... then with Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas returning we will be sorted

Depay was never going to come to us. Talks to take him to Utd happened last summer but was agreed best thing for the lad was to spend one more season at PSV

A dig at Rodgers? The lad knows LVG. Add the fact the scum will likely be in the CL and as you said "OT is more favourable" and are you surprised? Like I said: a no brainer. But since you've said it then yes, most players would opt for LVG over BR. LVG's status in the game is much greater than BR's, alas.
