None of us were happy with failing to the win the league but the odds were stacked against us and by failing the way we did - no sane supporter will attack this club for that failure against such an immense season.

You try and find any negative sentiment regarding our seasons performance except for an extremely small minority that exist on forums like these. Eds you are entitled to your opinion but you are not entitled to respect of that opinion. Especially one so far from the majority view.

Thought this was a rumour thread but for what I've been reading the past few days and all the bickering going on it should be renamed The Kindergarten thread

England start their World Cup campaign on Friday with a friendly against Peru at Wembley, if we don't sign Lallana in the next couple of days then I think we'll have to wait until mid July because once the warm up games start Roy won't want his players to be distracted by club business.
After the Newcastle game the echo was saying that Liverpool were keen to get their business done early this summer because of the World Cup, looks like our transfer team are finding it hard to get deals done once again.

Let's hope this one is made up ffs

LIVERPOOL are plotting a move for Crystal Palace star Yannick Bolasie after he helped wreck their title dream.

The Reds have made a firm enquiry about the 25-year-old winger after he starred against them in the final week of the season.

Bolasie inspired Palace's fightback from 3-0 down to earn a dramatic 3-3 draw at Selhurst Park as Tony Pulis's men delivered a fatal blow to Liverpool's title hopes.

Rodgers is a long-term admirer of the £2.5m-rated midfielder going back to the days when he was in charge of Swansea and Bolasie was at Plymouth.

He has kept tabs on the Congo international ever since as he has continued to catch the eye during his rise up the divisions to the top flight.

Rodgers aims to make up to six signings this summer to bulk up his squad ahead of Liverpool's return to the Champions League next season.

Bolasie, who can play on either flank, has the versatility Rodgers likes in his attacking players.

His relatively low price tag, due to the fact he has just 12 months left on his current Palace deal, makes him an even more attractive transfer target.

Bolasie is also wanted by clubs in Spain and Italy, including Fiorentina who had their interest rebuffed in January.

Meanwhile, Palace knocked back a £2m bid for Bolasie last week.

They are desperate to keep hold of him and have offered him a contract extension.

Yeah we might as well just hang on to Assaidi!

And oh another rumor going round is that we're set to swoop for Lallana, Lovren AND Clyne from Southampton. Terrible really. Only Lallana would improve us. Clyne has horrible positioning and Lovren isn't the leader we need.

If we signed every player we are linked with each transfer window our squad would enable us to have a league of just liverpool teams, I will just wait until Ayre is on a plane to sign someone and see if it falls through or not

I normally fall back on how reliable the source is. I googled that article - oldest reported instance was the Daily Star.

I think I'm safe to say its boll0cks

Liverpool have told Stoke City to pay a staggering £7 million for winger Oussama Assaidi.

Stoke are planning to sign Assaidi this summer after the Morocco international impressed on loan but have been left stunned by Liverpool's opening valuation.

Liverpool are keen to boost the funds available to manager Brendan Rodgers as they prepare for the Champions League and are determined to raise around £30million through player sales.

Rodgers is happy to sell Assaidi, a £3.5 million signing from Heerenveen in August 2012, but Liverpool are demanding a significant fee for the 25 year-old.

Stoke believe the valuation is unrealistic and are confident of haggling with Liverpool in a bid to lower the price to a more acceptable level.

Mark Hughes, the manager, has already signed Phil Bardsley from Sunderland on a free transfer and is set to complete a deal for long-term target Mame Biram Diouf.

Stoke have agreed a three-year deal with Diouf, who will leave Hannover this summer, and will announce the transfer next month.

  yeah, that's not going to happen. I'd be happy with 4-5 million, which would still be profitable for us.

What's gonna happen is that Stoke will pull out of the deal and go for Tom Ince should the deal with Inter fall through.

And since Spurs has appointed Pochettino, it's a matter of time before they make a bid for Lallana. And off goes another one of our targets to London in what's becoming a customary event.

Barca has rejected Juve's offer for Alexis.

The problem we have with Lallana is that Southampton are asking for way too much. Now the likes of City, Chelsea, Utd etc will have other targets and if they can't get them I can see one or two of them turning to the likes of Lallana and just paying what Southampton want and getting it done. This is  where we become unstuck. It's a balancing act between getting a good deal and paying what we think is a fair price but also not letting it drag on too long, because the teams with cash have the ability to sew up these big money deals in a matter of days. I still think we will get it done though.

Apparently, Soton want 30 million for Lallana. They can do one if that's true. He's realistically worth around 20 million, but considering how inflated the prices are for players these days, I'd give them up to 25 million. But 30? Not a chance.

Sure, we'll pay £30 million...but only 15 up front, the rest can be structured around first team appearances and England games. No way in hell should we pay £30 million up front. That can buy you all manner of WORLD CLASS midfielders.
