Suarez signed a new contract recently, he won't be going anywhere. If he does, we get paid handsomly for it. WIN - WIN

Let's not get dramatic

That new contract just protected our asset. It appeased Luis with a wedge of cash (rightly based on his performances), and added protection should we have to sell him, not being in the CL.

If we do not get at least 4th, Suarez will leave, but for north of £70m, rather than the £40m offered last summer.

Exactly. I personally don't blame Brendan for this at all. I'm pretty sure he's feeling the same way we are.

Not blaming BR here either, but am very disapointed in whoever is responsible for transfers and negotiations, its one window after another of disappointment, our first genuine chance for top 4 in a few years, we are 2 or 3 high quality players away from fulfilling that.

Are we broke? Serious question?

Aspas, Alberto, Assaidi, Ilori - for all of those we could have bought a world class DM, or at the time perhaps a bid for someone like Xherdan Shaqiri

Just to add to that, we bring in someone like Moses on a paid loan deal and allow Suso to go out on loan and play out his skin ffs.  We didnt need Ilori we had Wisdom, makes little to no sense

Very disappointed

Problem there though is if we bought one quality player instead of the players you listed our squad would be even smaller. The choices were wrong though.
Dont judge a book by the cover, unless you cover just another, because blind exceptance is a sign,

The responsible party is Ian Ayre and his cronies. They are not fit to be at our club, get rid now.  All of this shoddy work in the transfer market is hurting the fans. I don't believe it when he says Salah just didn't want to come to LFC.  He is trying to find an excuse for his own inadequacies at negotiating. What I can believe is what Salah's agent said, re, it was taking to long.....2 long months, which is absolutely ridiculous when you've chance to capture a top 4 finish. I don't blame BR for any of this, it's everyone above him. Bunch of F**k wits.

It is an absolute must that we strengthen if we want a top 4 or higher finish this season, so they'd better get quality players in by Friday or else, as someone else mentioned, the banners that were displayed when twiddle dee and twiddle dum were here will be dusted down down and put up along the terraces.

Dramatic? So you know the details of the contract now? Spill and share it...and I'm not asking for your guess work or bit and pieces of gossips from the trash tabloids

In truth, would you rather we keep Luis or bank the £70m (or whatever the numbers that has been thrown about). There is also no guarantee that the amount will be use for reinvestment in players. For a club with high ambition, we should not let our best (proven) assets go and bring in a bunch of unknown. Not sure? Just ask Tottenham and AVB.

WIN-WIN? Let's not get stupid here!

Assaid and Ilori have been sent on loan.
Alberto and Aspas hardly ever play and if they didn't arrive, Suso and Ibe and Borini would probably not be with other clubs on loan.
My issue is, that even before the arrival of these 4 players, we already had enough squad fillers especially when one looks at the talent in the Academy.
The only player whom I find outstanding among the 4 mentioned is Alberto.

he's not solely responsible for the f*ck ups, maybe its inexperience on his behalf but its not the first time weve got stuffed under this committee of which he is a part of.

we couldnt be, the extra TV money this season, new sponsorship deals along with the last few years ridding ourselves of dead wood and wage cuts. if we are broke id be shocked.

all that is down to brendan, he chose the squad for the season and failed to improve on players like downing and shelvey. he is even talking about moses been made a permanent in the summer. we could have kept the 2 boys not bothered with aspas, alberto, llorri and spent the money on a top player.

Very disappointed

Capoue and Lewis Holtby have been told they can leave Spurs. Snap them up! I really like Holtby, always did. When we crushed them at WHL, he was the only player out there who was giving his all for Spurs.

BR said in his post-match conference that he hoped to make a 'major signing' before the window shuts on Friday...take from that what you will. :Oo:

:;):  Hope he wasn't talking about Tom Ince....

Heard somewhere that we are looking at Konoplyanka , and could sort a deal by Friday ??? Really?

Thought this was funny, from Chris Bascombe
"Currently at Anfield wondering if Brendan Rodgers will say: 'I wanted a lamp & they brought me an airline sponsorship & a donut".

I'd take Tom Ince over some bloke from the Ukranian PL.
