I am so sick sick sick of this transfer window shenanigans, its do my head in seeing all the teams around us strengthening. Ian Ayre states "we won't be held to ransom/pay over the odds. Plonker, it nearing the end of the window, clubs know we are desperate to buy, so what will they do, yes Ian Ayre, that's right, raise the value ten fold for the player we want. The board et al are so flaming inept, I just can't believe it. Not even one of our transfer targets has been obtained. Absolutely ridiculous.

Rodgers sounds a bit pi$$ed off that the Salah deal fell through, basically saying that he identified the player he wanted but the financial people couldn't get the deal done. He said losing Salah to Chelsea after negotiating for 3 months was 'difficult to take'. Ayre said at the launch of garuda's new sponsorship deal with the club that Salah just didn't want to play for Liverpool it's as simple as that.
Apparently Ben Evans the sports correspondent at the BBC has tweeted that it's his understanding that we won't be bringing anyone in before Fridays deadline.
Rodgers said he hasn't given up hope yet but if he has to continue with this squad he will, he said he will 'rinse' everything he can out of them.

How is any of this Rodgers' fault?

He is the manager he bares overall responsibility. He failed in bringing quality players so far ,he overspent on way too many "squad" players which evidently are a huge failure and didn't even strengthen the squad. I want him to go straight to the owners and say ,hey if you want CL football i need players if not i can't meet my goals. The consequences for the future of the team are pretty bad.
He is a great Coach of the game ,but his Managerial capabilities are still under review. (As someone mentioned already).

:(

Quote from Salah's agent

"It was a long and fair negotiation with Liverpool, but it lasted two-and-a-half months - too long."

Says it all really, we are bloody useless at transfer negotiations and getting deals done, somebody needs sacking and replaced with someone who can do the job

I get the impression BR is a touch miffed at the lack of support from the people above him during this transfer window. It sounded as if he was expecting a signing or 2 but has now been told to deal with what he has got. He certainly sounded disgruntled with the whole thing and rightly so.
Lets not lump all the blame on BR here, I reckon he is as peeved as we are.

With all due respect to Salah's quality and our negotiation skills ,he is NOT the top priority for this team. Where is our DM ffs? now that Lucas is out it's not a matter of discussion anymore ,we need a DM.
Our weakest points are the DM and the FB's and all i see is BR soaking over Salah ,have we forget we have one of the most potent offence in the league? Yes of course i would like a talented MF which can supply the balls and get some goals but our Defensive MF has been a problem from the beginning of the year and now with players out it is just none existent. You can have 4 CB's but can't get ONE DM?

To be fair, not many teams around us have strengthened so we are not alone. City, Arsenal and Spurs have done nothing. Yes mancs have got Mata but they didn't really do too much in the summer so they were always going to try and push the boat out this window. Chelsea have arguably been weakened by losing Mata even though they have signed Matic and Salah.

Not sure where did you get this from but I won't be at all surprised if this is all true. TWO AND A HALF FEKKIN' MONTHS???...wtf are these jokers doing??? My Granny can finished this negotiation fasters than those retards sitting on the board. Maureen took a couple of days to grab Salah and strengthen his team while weakening ours, and all we can come out is..."We won't be held at ransom". Well sunshine, now that your pants are on fire, that's what all the clubs will do...hold your f**king @ss for ransom!

Yeah right keep patting your back and say it's OK. You seems to have forgotten that these teams are coming from a position of strength while we have to rush our walking wounded back for a few minutes of cameo and lose them again for a couple of months. We started with a weak squad and punch above the numbers. Now we have an opportunity to built on the momentum but the board seems to think top players will claw their way to us so we could lowball the selling club until they relent. And we'll most likely ended up with a couple of loanees and a couple of bargain basement players "so we could build for the future". FFS losing out on CL again will set us another few years back from our competitors, who will keep strengthening and losing Luis at the end of the season will turn us back, and not forward. And if the board think it's OK, then they are out of their depth and have no idea what sort of level are they currently playing. All is not lost, but Ayre and co need to go. Really disappointing!

Now hang on a minute...we still have Moses right? He is willing to come to us at our terms...let's sign him up!

Rodgers hasn't even been here 2 full seasons and yet this looks like the second transfer window that he's been left high and dry. It's no use blaming Rodgers, whoever's in charge would face the same problem, we are owned and run by financial people who view not only football but the whole world through the prism of mathematics, percentages and statistics.

Suarez signed a new contract recently, he won't be going anywhere. If he does, we get paid handsomly for it. WIN - WIN

Let's not get dramatic

I don't see any choice but signing at least one DM ,even if a squad player. Otherwise it's just plain insanity.
