That outcome would be sweeter than honey. But to be honest, I don't think Liverpool can finish in top 4 without Suarez esp. if the rat is now at Arsenal.

And fortunately if we do stand firm and hold out from selling him, things will have blown over somewhat when he returns sometime mid September.

“I gave absolutely everything last season, now all I want is for Liverpool to honour our agreement,” Suarez said.

“Last year I had the opportunity to move to a big European club and I stayed on the understanding that if we failed to qualify for the Champions League the following season I’d be allowed to go.

“I am 26, I need to be playing in the Champions League. I feel I have done enough to be playing in the Champions League at this stage of my career. Now there is an option for me to do that and I want very much to take it............."

Oh give it a rest. Gave my "absolute everything....", well, LS, if you kept your head down and got on with things, instead of causing to major incidents, then you would not have been  banned, and you could have helped the club into the CL. But because of your stupidity, look what has happened. If anyone is to blame, then it is you. You will be sold abroad if anything. Never to a domestic rival, end of.....

You really think that we stand firm and it will blow over ! This will not "blow over" - this isn't some minor incident

Suarez has made it clear as day now. He has hinted all summer long that he wants to leave and we have ignored - it's going to get worse now , he won't play for us again.

Imagine if what he said about the promises is true ! Shows the club management for a bunch of amateurs ( well they are anyway ) .

Last summer the club and owners ***** up - and we see the fall out right now and it will get worse.

Thankfully we have the wonderful leadership of Ian Ayre to guide us through. The clubs response should be amusing "head in the sand" whilst they save more money

If Suarez is telling the truth, which i highly doubt it.

It doesnt show the club to be amateurs. It shows his agent to be. If he was signing a new contract last summer and this agreement was supposedly made, then why wasnt a proper clause inserted in his contract ?

I think he is bullsh!tting and the club have handled a very difficult situation so far very very well.

We'll see the best of Henry now. Ever tried to bully a rich American?

I know it's nit picking but if he is telling the truth re the clause...the only bid is from the gooners. Technically they are in a playoff to reach the CL, and are not yet in the competition. Therefore the club is not in breach of the clause.

If they win the playoff (in a couple of weeks) then the clause is active.

One more thing about this Suarez "Set me free" situation - he still hasn't put in a transfer request. The windows been open over a month.

Hope he never wears a Liverpool jersey again!  SIck of him at this point.
If he wants to leave just put in a transfer request.

I don't even care if we sell to Arsenal.  Maybe it will motivate our current players to play out of their skin and make sure he isn't in the CL next season.

I just got a feeling that we will not sell him this summer, as I think it's just a little to late to bring in a quality replacement. We will not sell to the Arsew1pes.

Anyway, he doesn't really want to go there. He was hopeing RM or Barca would come in, they haven't (yet), they could in the last week of the window, but this doesn't give our club enough time to get a decent player in. You know what its like during the last week, other clubs know you need a player and likely to put a price on an individual fit to be a ransoms amount even if he isn't worth the amount (Carroll.....)

That's what I said in a previous post, that is, this situation will have rattled the club to it's core. Each player as a result, imo, will play out of their skin as they don't want this to happen again. Hence my ''where will we finish in the EPL...' I put 2nd,.......

I'll be extremely disappointed with the club if they allowed themselves to be stampeded into selling him to a direct rival in the PL...

I can understand his personal career ambitions, but the club also has its interests to protect, corporate and footballing interests.
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.
