Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Ayre just said on SSN Suarez is not for sale and we haven't had a bid from abroad for him.

We definitely need a couple of quality signings even if we keep him.

The club said a while back they have strengthened the squad now they need to do so with team, they need to
do something soon.

Surprised we agree to help Blackpool out these days after the way they messed us about over Adam
and then Ince.

Only a loan but I warn Robinson off a contract there at any point the way their chairman deals with
his staff and people in general.

i really do wonder then where these stories come from  :suspect:

Liverpool have reportedly agreed to sell the Uruguyan international striker Luis Suarez according to Sports Direct News. The reports further claim that that Suarez will not be joining Arsenal, who have failed with significant bids for the Premier League ace, but rather that the former Ajax man is set for either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid. However, if Real get Bale from Spurs, it is unlikely that they will afford another huge outlay making Bayern the front-runners. A formal announcement is expected soon.

The right players are there, if you can't get them for a reasonable price you sometimes have to spend more. That doesn't make the transfer any less credible, just means you are determined to improve your squad.

Wish we had a proper MD who could do all the yes man talking as I'm sure BR will end up copping a load of flak for this.

i agree, didnt ryan babel tweet something about christian erickssen jumping at the chance to sign for us if liverpool put in any sort of a bid? and only yesterday schalke`s general manager horst heldt said that he`d seen loads of speculation in the press linking papadopolous with liverpool but he hadnt recieved any offers for the player from any club never mind liverpool.
i seem to recall mkhitaryans representatives saying something similar, they heard rumours about interest from liverpool but the club never made any sort of official approach.
you have got to question wether we are really interested in these types of high profile players, rodgers a couple of weeks ago was saying `thats the squad sorted now it`s time to strengthen the first team` but all we have been linked with recently is a couple of left backs who we wanted on loan (one of whom we turned down because of his wage demands) and now he seems to be backtracking on those statements about making big signings.

I'm getting frustrated as a fan at the moment, we have some great players but still missing a couple to really challenge for champions league.

The lack of ambition is clear for all to see, the signings we have signed are players who are affordable just to balance the books.

If we buy one world class player before the season starts I will be shocked, but also very happy.

Billy Liddell ‏@Liddellpool
#LFC have bid £21.8m for Diego Costa acc to @AHunterGuardian

Express:

Liverpool submit £22m bid for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa

The Brazilian international, 24, is not being targeted as a replacement for Luis Suarez with the Anfield club intent on keeping their want-away star.

Atletico are considering the bid for Costa having sold Radamel Falcao earlier in the summer to Monaco for £50m and brought in David Villa as a replacement from Barcelona.

Costa is keen to speak to Liverpool, who recruited Iago Aspas earlier in the summer from Celta Vigo for £7m, as Rodgers looks to get more goals into his team

Now that's a decent quality player to be linked too - not a heavy scorer but a very clever forward with a bit of a nasty streak though.

Will be interesting to see if he agrees to the deal

That's a joke of a transfer - never loan to an Italian club. If Napoli want him then pay his fee.

Shall we loan Suarez out as well - anyone else we can loan out ? Understand Barce are after Agger - then can have him for a year.

i`ve never heard of him but reading other forums and comments from youtube clips a lot of people seem to think the same as you.
i like rodgers, i think he`s a terrific coach but i have to say i dont think he`s a genuis in the transfer market.
we seem loathe to spend decent money and when we do it`s on a player thats not worth that fee.

Yes it is frustrating, don't worry though, the window is still open. We'll sign a couple of quality players before the window shuts, got this feeling......

BBC now reporting we've bid 21 mil to trigger Diego Costa's release clause.

Don't know much about him but this sounds like we're properly in for him.

Finally. I just hope he isnt a Suarez replacement. But someone to work the front 3 along with Suarez and Sturridge.
