At best we are a couple of players from being a good team, who, on its day can give anyone a game. This "we are years away from challenging" is part of the problem for me. Man U were Fu*king sh'ite this season and without Van Persie would have struggled to win the league.
Man city are more responsible for united being champions than united are.

Come off it, mate. We might not be as far away from being a top four side as some people believe but Real Madrid can offer Suarez CL football next season and every season thereafter. They can offer him the chance to challenge for major trophies season-in, season-out. They can afford to pay him more and they can offer him a place to live that puts him closer to his family.

The fact is when Madrid come calling, even the best of clubs in the best of positions have a hard time fending them off and we should know, it's happened to us more than once.

We were 28 points behind UTD !! That's miles away and if they are "f*cking *****" what exactly does that make us

We are nowhere near the CL - we can't even get into Europa

Madrid are one of the biggest clubs in the world - bigger than us and can offer him what we can't and won't in the near future

I know how many points we are behind united numb nuts. Do you have to keep repeating the Fu*king obvious?
How many points were we off 4th knobby?

barrett in the times, hunter in the guardian and bascombe in the telegraph all apparently saying tommorow that luis has a £40m buy out clause.
all this talk of getting 50m/60m for him is pie in the sky i`m afraid.

Oh well, going by our targets, I hope we try to negotiate a swap deal with Madrid instead of getting the whole sum in cash. Any of Benzema/Higuain + 10-15 mill would be excellent business.

I can't see Real Madrid spending in excess of 90million on just 2 players (Bale and Suarez), which in reality is what they would need to spend MINIMUM if they were going to buy both. If Spurs don't sell Bale, then I truly think we are f**ked because they will come in hard for Suarez and try and get him on the cheap, just like they f**ked us in the past with McManaman, Owen and Alonso. We need to have the ba.l.ls to hold out for 55-60m minimum, anything less and FSG should be hung out to dry.

Anyway this shows you ALL more then ever where we are and the extreme pressure that Rodgers is now under. As I keep saying only bringing in players the likes of Eriksen can save us. I'm sure that if Suarez sees an army of 1m - 3m priced players from relagation fodder teams in Europe, it will only make his decision easier.  :no

Madrid won't spend 90 mill on 2 players ? They reportedly offered Neymar a package worth close to 100mill that he rejected ! If they want the 2 players, which seems to be the case, then they will spend to get them. Either way, we shouldnt accept anything less than 50mill for Suarez and I dont expect Spurs to act any different with bale.

You do understand that included his wages don't you?

Bale and Suarez transfers ALONE would be 90 million NOT including their salaries.

You also do understand the the difference between paying 90-100 million UP FRONT and spreading this out over a few year's (in terms of wages)?

Big difference  :p

You're quite clever.

By paying 65mill as a transfer fee for Neymar + whatever they were going to offer Bale (upwards of 50mill you would assume), it means that they were prepared to part with over 100mill UPFRONT to sign 2 of their main targets anyways.
They certainly have the money to fund the transfers and with them ending the season with no trophies and their main rivals strengthening their side with one of the best players in the world, you can bet your 13 iq points that Madrid will go out of their way to make a point in the transfer market, if nothing else.

oops, forgot the obligatory :p

either of those would be good signings for us.
we need to get out there and sell this club to players that we have ambition and will qualify for the CL, not hey come here and waste your career while you play big brother to the kids.
slur made ronaldo stay another year and wenger did same with viera so the club has every right to insist luis do the same.
we more than likely wont though

Strong words by Suarez. If this is not another "mis-interpreted translation" then he is gone. The only upside is he won't be in England to play against us.

If Bale is worth 60 million Suarez should be equal if not more.

Are you guys arguing whether or not Madrid will have the money for both Bale and Suarez? You guys realize that this club signed both Kaka and Ronaldo in the same season?

we need to convince him to stay another season...
i hv encountered the so near yet so far situation too many times..

imagine if owen had stay with us for one more season, we would hv won big ears no.5 with him
imagine if torres had stay with us for one more season, he n suarez will form the most deadly combination in the world.

Get the f**k out here, find us a source where they said they had enough money to sign Bale and Neymar in the same article.

And I'm talking about a quote from Perez or someone up the food chain over there.

You're making up porky pies and you know it.

No, we are arguing whether Madrid could afford paying for Neymar and Bale.

I wouldn't blame him if he goes to RM. Reasons are, currently we are not famous anymore since Kenny stepped down 22 years ago, RM can offer him more wages and CL football every season, the English press and rival fans have been a pain in the a@se on him, he is at his prime at the moment and Liverpool are still in the rebuilding stage and won't qualify nor win the PL not at least another 5 more years and by then he'll be too old for a footballer,  why would he want to waste his talent on a club that is rebuilding? Last but not least, he won't be going to another PL club and won't be coming back to haunt us. If we can fetch 60M for him, we can use it to buy a suitable replacement. I am beginning to get more and more *****#d off with the owners as it doesn't look like they will fund BR with much money resulting in BR having to look for free transfers, selling our prized assets who want to go and buying more kids. A club with this kind of tactics deserve to remain stuck at mid table. If rumours of 20M allocation for BR for the summer transfers is true, then that's pathetic. Only relegation battling or mid table clubs get this kind of limited funding from owners.
