Finally watched Dredd. Impressed... this film doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. The gore was a bit too yucky though a bit similar to Spartacus... Hope there is a sequel which can expand on the first...

Money talks, and unfortunately Dredd isn't making any. It's seriously tanking the world over, and so far has only recouped barely half of it's overall budget. Pathetic, once you take into consideration that absolute sh*te like Taken 2 has not only made back Dredd's entire budget in a single weekend, but is still raking it in enough so that they are now going to make a 3rd. I hear he'll be taken by aliens. Why not? It'll still sell. People are idiots for this Sh*t. So much for Dredd getting it's deserved sequels. We won't ever get to see potentially the most scary, weird, and coolest characters ever to grace an action film - the dark judges.

My brother suggested watching Taken. So I watched it and gave him my verdict.

this is it:

"I like Liam Neeson. As an actor I think he is top draw, but the only decent film he has been in is Darkman. Taken was utter sh!t. His daughter was kidnapped, he walked out of his front door and followed a path directly to her."

My brother couldnt believe what I said, he turned to his missus in despair, "He said Taken was sh!t!"

This is the cr@p hollywood produces, and people like my brother get suckered in to believing these films are worth watching.

For the record the last film I see at the flicks was Van Helsing, and after that I called it quits. Turns out it was a money saving decision.

Wonder if any of you have watched skyfall? Not bad I'd give it 7.5 out of 10. Simple story but good characters. The story tell8ng and style feels like nolan's dark knight series though... you can almost imagine James Bond as Batman lol...

It's the best Craig's done imo, though the villain does have that air of the joker about him. I'm a big fan of the bond series and thought the many references to the old films were class. It's nicely set up to go back to its roots in the next and hopefully it'll do that

Loved the opening action sequence culminating with train fight , however  movie seem to drag a bit for me in second half

Watched loads of movies over Xmas

Life of Pi, Dredd, Taken 2, all worth seeing, Cloud Atlas (Tom Hanks) and Flight (Denzil Washington) were both disappointing.

Really enjoyed a neat little action comedy movie featuring Billy Bob Thornton called Baytown Outlaws, only 80 mins long, made me think the Dukes of Hazard and Rain Man were meeting Kill Bill.

I saw the Hobbit nearly two weeks, I give it 7/10.

I don't like the way Jackson has turned what is essentially a children's novel into another LOTR at cinema level just to attract as many viewers as he can. It does the greatest novel of the 20th century (my opinion) no justice whatsoever.

It also p*sses me off that he's making it a trilogy when there is clearly no need to do so.

If there is a need for a trilogy then there's definitely no need for the movies to be 3 f*cking hours again.

The film is long, it's about 2 hours and 20 minutes, so it's not a short film by any means.
