Joe Cole - is there a place for him in the starting 11

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

cole`s done okay recently and to be fair to him he`s shown quite a bit of character because he must realise he`s not the most popular player on the terraces but lets face it if he wasnt one of rodgers mates from his chelsea days he wouldnt be getting so many opportunities.
even with joe`s upturn in form i cant understand how he is ahead of assaidi in the pecking order, assaidi looks as creative as anyone in our side (bar suarez) but he cant even get on for 10 minutes as a sub.

Can you please explain why you continually refuse to support our manager Brendan Rodgers, is it just becuase he replaced your idol Kenny Daglish or did he do something personal to you?

The way he carries on, you'd think that Rodgers railed his wife. Though he does have a point, what is the point of paying £3m for a player and then not using him? Assaidi looks like a nifty little player with a good football brain and a good technical ability and he finds himself behind Enrique, Cole and Downing. It's ridiculous.

Harry Redknapp has just admitted on Sky Sports News that he is interested in signing Cole. With our squad as small as it is, it wouldn't make sense to sell him. We are thin enough on back up players as it is. Unless half a dozen players are brought in, we can't afford to sell anyone. Especially after the mistakes in the last transfer window. And I can't see more than 3 new players coming in, if that.

On the subject of Cole, I think he has been playing better this season and has been unlucky not to get more starts in the team.

I was getting my hair cut in barbers in town, the barber said to me that loads of the younger LFC lads get theirs done in there. Suso, Morgan and a few others.
Well he said Morgan was saying to him recently that Assaidi in training is ridiculous, you cant get near him, he can go left or right and is past you before you've blinked.
He reckons the reason he isnt getting a look in though is because they think he is too light weight and they are trying to bulk him up a bit.

get rid of him asap.
one of the worst signings ever to be brought here and he wont be missed. if harrys that desperate then he will pay for him too which will clear the way for someone else.
we'd be idiots to loan him out only for him to return in june. it really troubles me that a player like aqua was shown the door and this waste of space kept.

he is lightweight tbh.
got loads of pace in him and is tricky but like sterling he just gets blown off the ball too easy. playing assaidi regular would show this but like most i am puzzled as to why he hasnt featured more often.
at this stage i reckon it will be next season before we see him as a regular fixture.

This is what Morgan said to him.
Whether Morgan is full of sh!t is a different matter.

Also Sterling and Suso are for me stronger physically than Assaidi, they may be small but are not as light weight as him for me.

Apparently he wants a 3.6M payoff to go. Fook it, if YOU could wrangle that kind of payoff, wouldn't YOU want to get it?
Scally, that's what he is...

If we keep Cole who has proved to be probably Hodgson's worst signing it will cost us over £7m in wages. Let him go now. Surely we can get a couple of million for him. Let's face it QPR are fkg desperate.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years 20/21 to 24/25  (10 years
are in brackets 15/16 to 24/25 )
LFC €300m (€420m)
Everton +€33m (€211m)
Arsenal €557m (€853m)
Spurs €571m (€684m)
Chelsea €945m (€1051m)
Man City €370m (€1038m)
Man United €687m (€1240m)

I'm a big fan of Cole, he's done better this season, but I can't see him featuring more than he has been with Sturridge and possibly Ince arriving.

I'd let him go back to London with QPR. He is a rare player mind.
