Was Suarez the hottest property on Europe ?

How many clubs did we compete against to get the signature of Suarez ?

There is a world difference between Ajax and Dortmund currently.

Suarez wanted to move to a higher standard of league football and we gave him that chance.

Is Reus the hottest property in europe?

I know Spurs were after Suarez

Dortmund only beat Ajax 1-0 on september 18th 2012 at home.

Premier league is higher standard than bundesliga

Yes Reus is one of the hottest properties in European Football

Did Spurs bid for Suarez - no

If you think the prem is a better standard than the Bundasliga then you haven't watched it.

Compare City United Chelsea Arsenal to Dortmund Schalke Leverkusen and Munich ?

One off games don't show the difference

The two recent champs met in the Bundasliga - Joe Hart stopped Dortmund from a very big win.

Beating a team in pre season means sweet FA.

Prem is not a better standard overall than the Bundasliga.

German football is very very strong at the moment.

We tried to get Klopp but he turned us down

One player moving means nothing

Reus will not leave Dortmund for us ,He only arrived in the summer for £18mil for one. Let alone the glaring differences between them and us at the moment

Oh and it's nice to see Richard finally coming through.

They are CL players on CL fees wanting CL wages wanting to play in the CL.

The sooner people realise that we won't get those players the better for everyone.

The top teams are our not competition at the moment

We came 8th last season - not 4th or even 5th.

We are currently a mid table team that needs to rebuild

surely you don't think benny that either Athletico or Dortmund are paying those guys a fortune.
falcao we dont stand a chance of because that deal will be all about silly money, but reus i think is definitely a player we could and should go for.not all players are concerned only about money.reus is young, and for him a move to a much better league would be pefect. we are a young side improving all the time, the style we play and he'd be a guaranteed starter.he'd fit the fsg model perfectly and we can well afford to spend 20mil on him and pay him 70 a week.
your right we did finish off the top 4 three seasons straight but the stats are enough to show that we create enough to be in the top 4 comfortably if we only had someone who could convert all those chances we create.
we have been rebuilding and have a completely different side than 3 years ago so how long more do you think that process needs to be.
imo we could be three players off being title contenders in two years if we sign players like reus over hooper. we have enough youth in the squad thats not experienced and he would bring that.in 3 years he could be worth 3 times what we paid.
we have finished outside top 6 for too long so rodgers must start bringing us up and fenway need to back him.if they back him with a few signings like reus then we will only go up but if we sign players like hooper then i fear we could very well end up in 2-3 years with a team that resembles wigan.
im not knocking hooper either as he has a decent record at his current and last club but they are no where near the level of the prem.

You do realise that Dortmund are the reigning German Champions 2 years in a row offering CL football

We couldn't persuade their manager to leave and you think we can buy a player they only bought a couple months ago for 18mil and is now one of the hottest properties in European football for £20mil ?!?

We don't have a hope in hell off getting someone like Reus

so what benny, they have won an inferior league and have cl football.the bundesliga does not have the money or the prestige the prem has so the clubs do not pay their players silly money like they do here.dortmund are no where near as big a club as us, as they are outside the worlds top ten and our annual turnover is twice what their's is so how do you reckon we can't compete for the same players as them?.
even though reus just signed for them i would be very very surprised if he was earning the colour of what suarez, carroll and agger earn here.
you keep going on about how we wont get players because we arent playing in the cl but thats a load of tosh. if we arent signing the quality of player like reus then we we wont be getting cl any time soon either.if a player believes he is moving to a bigger club who is going somewhere then they will sign regardless of whether they play on a wedensday night or not.
the bulk of our rebuilding is done and the club is stable so there is no reason why we cannot be looking for a higher calibre of players than we are currently signing.
fabio borini cost 13 mil and reus 18mil and its not the case of we dont have that extra 5 mil, because we do.its a case of our owners are clueless and penny pinchers who want to pioneer some revolutionary theory they have ,that they can win a title with a budget that is on a par with fulham.

the bundesliga for me as a whole package, is the best league in the world, if you take into account the ticket prices, atmospheres, no debt at clubs, no foreign ownership etc etc. their league is also ultra competitive as four different champions in the last five seasons shows. bayern and dortmund would be top 4 over here imo. schalke are a bloody good team aswell.

oh do one with your negative sh*te benny.
We are still one of the biggest clubs in the world with one of the biggest followings in the world, plus we have got a chairman stating that we have got the resources to compete with anyone in the game if we have to.
in other words we are a huge club with money.
it`s time the owners backed their man in the transfer market.

Have you not figured out that: "chairman stating that we have got the resources to compete with anyone in the game if we have to." was a porky pie yet??

We are NOT one of the biggest clubs in the world any more, we were 20 years ago, but since then we've been in decline. That's not to say we can't get our position back but it will take time and a massive rebuilding exercise but we have the right foundation. In the meantime please join the real world and realise the position we are really in becuase it sure as hell is not the same as your fantasy version.

in the country that is the home of football we are the second best supported team behind united.
can you explain to me how that makes us a small club please.
united went 26 years without winning the title, and in their wilderness years they hardly won f**k all, they certainly didnt get to 2 european cup finals, they even got relegated.
it didnt stop them being the biggest club in this country, manchester united were the biggest club in this country even when they were relegated into the second division.
it takes decades and decades and decades before giant clubs fade into obscurity, thats because football fans are generally loyal, i say generally, by the sounds of it you and benny are ready to make the switch to another club.

i dont think bayern and dortmund would be top 4 sides over here. the prem is relentless, every team gives you a game and the so called lesser sides dont stand around admiring your good football as we found out against stoke in our last match.
i think they`d do very well to outpace chelsea, city and united over 38 games in this country.
i agree germany is a well run league but it`s still a working class sport over there, it costs £13 to get into a game mainly because the players arent on ridiculous wages and most of the players in the league are german so the clubs arent spending astronomical amounts on foreign players.
in terms of worldwide popularity though it`s nowhere near the prem, infact it`s nowhere near the spanish league and that itself is some way behind the prem.
