What they have done is bought better than what they sold. The direct hoofball days of the last few seasons with Nolan launching diagonal balls upfield to Carroll have given way to a possession based method with Yohan Cabaye, Demba Ba and Papiss Demba Cisse. The play is much more deliberate, incisive, less chance, so credit to Pardew for taking Newcastle up a level. They can go 11 points clear of us which is staggering.

Watched them last week at West Brom and they look a different team to the last few seasons.

to be fair to newcastle they have done a terrific job, after losing barton, nolan, enrique and carroll who were the backbone of their side most people had them as one of the favourites to go down, then they lost a popular manager in chris hughton who was very unlucky to lose his job and considering the storm when pardew first arrived and all the talk of the dressing room being up in arms overs hughton`s dismissal they have done really well to be where they are.

Grow up FFS, why cant he saay he cant wait to go back and show the geordies what he can do? Why do we always have to be negative and protective? Pathetic.

He should receive a thunderous round of applause from the geordies (if he makes a rare start). His sale has allowed them to bring in a better replacement, play a better style, and become a better team.
Its very different to us and Torres.
