Source: A close friend (not lie, the guy really knows the player, it's proved) of Xabi Prieto. He also foresee Alonso's bid earlier than anyone else in the RS forum, and other informative bombs, so I owe him that credibility.

Credibility: 4 out of 5 .

My opinion: Another success. He only needs to be stronger (work in the gym). Excellent dribbling, excellent crossings, excellent penalty taker. Thumbs up, the unique player of my team that can go to Liverpool. He's key for us at the moment, and he's going to be expensive, but I can tell he'd be worth of the money. BTW, Rafa Benitez tried to sign him up in Valencia (oficially), that makes it more likely, but 2 years ago he was a lot more unknown (and cheap) than now... Oh and he's young.

sabre, you say he'd be expensive, what sort of fee would any potential buyer be looking at having to pay?

also, how old is he?

He's 23. Alonso and him are mates. It's difficult for me to know the fee that will ask Real Sociedad. What we do know is that Rafa contacted him THIS WEEK.

Why it's difficult to know what will be the fee? because there are several teams interested (Prieto will preffer to play alongside Alonso and Anfield rather than Valencia, that's for sure), because the team needs the money, and because if he goes too cheap, the Real Sociedad board will be killed by fire in some spot of San Sebastian, and I'd be among the murderers.

The minimum clause fee is high, but it's likely Real Sociedad will sell him. Why? because we have signed up this season a player for the right wing, which was strange (Novo) having Prieto. Real Sociedad needs the money. Real Sociedad can't afford to sell Prieto as a bargain... I dunno.

Dawson: His progession this season is being meteoric, and the best is yet to come, I wouldn't suprise him being in the Spanish Squad soon enough

Couldn't think of anywhere else to put this.  Its a transfer rumor, granted not an LFC one.  I did think everyone would get a chuckle out of it......

Anelka tells Everton to 'stop dreaming'

PARIS (AP) - Nicolas Anelka has told Everton he would never consider playing for them and that the club should "stop dreaming" about him joining.

Anelka said in an interview Wednesday that he has no intention of leaving Turkish club Fenerbahce for England and denied all British media reports linking him to Newcastle and Everton.

"Some newspapers said I absolutely wanted to leave Turkey and come to Newcastle or Everton," Anelka told sports daily L'Equipe. "The problem is, I never speak to the English press."

Anelka, who has been recalled to the France team, said leaving Fenerbahce to join "a smaller club" like Everton is "absolutely impossible."

"Having played for Liverpool, and worn Liverpool's jersey, I will never wear Everton's," he said. "Everton should stop dreaming about me coming. I'm staying at Fenerbahce until the end of the season. I'm very happy here."

Anelka scored five goals in 22 games during a six-month loan spell at Liverpool between 2001-2002.

Excuse me that I bother you with a local question (Real Sociedad)

There's a big wind up with the Xabi Prieto rumor here.

IN the other hand Bakero our sport manager (former barcelona player and one of our classic youth products) has said that we are going to bring a player that has played in spain, left midfielder, and is known in Spain.

And I just  :idea , could it be possibly be Zenden? what's his current status? how do you see his future in Anfield?.

It turns out to happen that Bakero and Zenden had work relationship in Barcelona, if a Prieto deal is truly about to be done... I think yes, what about you? we don't seem to be counting on him much, do we?

Some rumours flying around the web....

David Beckham will join Liverpool either in January or after the World Cup. Adidas will instigate the move as he is with Real Madrid and Adidas is putting a lot of money into LFC. Steven Gerrard has already gone on the record and said "we will sign a righ sided midfielder in January and you will be shocked with who it is". Rafa already has a relationship with Real Madrid (Owen) and can make it happen. Arsenal havent got the money (new stadium), Tottenham cant afford him, Chelsea aint interested, and we are the European Champions, IT WILL HAPPEN!!

and

Liverpool have a deal with Adidas to the tune of 30m a year for the next 2 seasons with an option of a further 3 years after that. They will have also the money from the shirt sponsorship which will be a massive amount around 100m+ Rafa is not collecting Autographs or playing Championship Manager he will sign only players who bring something to the squad and have the right work mentality.

The players he sees adding to the squad are as follows Simao Owen Kuyt Kompany he will also be looking for a holding Midfield player to play back up to Sissoko this may be a young reserve that is already on the books.

Simao will join in this window with Owen deal already thrashed out and Kuyt moving in the summer talks have been ongoing for Kompany and a deal is not far off the reason for doing the deals now for the players arriving in the summer is simple with the world cup this summer the players will go straight to there training camps after the season ends and ther wont be much time after the world cup and also prices may rocket depending on how well they play there may be a few more minor signings as replacements for players are sold on prices agreed Simao 8-9m Kompany 8m Owen 12m buy out Kuyt 10m so as you can see less than 40m with players leaving Dudek 3m Kirkland 4m Treore 2m Mellor 1m La Tallac 2.5m Cisse 12m Carol 4m fees between 25-30m coming in meaning rafa will have spent around 15m net in the summer keeping well within the budget

Probably b-ollox :D
