SLY SPANISH TACTICS
Never trust the bástards

San Sebastian, June 11

This newspaper is in a position to claim that Liverpool's tactic is to fool the surrounding clubs by making them think there's not really megafunds to spend.

While all the country laughs about their inability to buy decent players, Rafa is lurking with the confidence of having talked with the new american Owners Gillet and Hicks.

Close sources to Rafa says he's going to give a massive blow when the Spanish league ends, and will strike first with a massive signing up that will put European football upside down and will trigger a number of chain reaction signing ups.

In the mean time the Spanish tactician has dropped here and there false rumours, echoed by some friends in the press, and that has lured the archenemies in the idea that names like Nani, or Forlan or Milito were the target. Manchester picked the bait and has wasted a ridiculous amount of money in a couple of unproven players of the portuguese league.

More to come.

Incredible twist in transfers.

In the most unlikely of transfer twists, three chain signings have been unveiled yesterday.

Bellamy to Newcastle, Owen to Arsenal and Thierry Henry to Liverpool !!!  The transfer fees involved are supposedly similar, around 9 mil pounds, with the difference that Henry paid himself a difference of 5 mil pounds to Arsenal just to be able to play in front of the Kop as a Liverpool player.

We still do not know the backstage negociations that lead to these incredible transfers, but we hope tomorrow we will have more details.

Liverpool Football Club will announce in the next 48 hours the first of 3 signings that will have their Premiership rivals sit up and take notice of the under acheving sleeping giant.  Whispers from outside Melwood state that a deal has been "all but signed" for a player who is currently plying his trade down the M62 at the Theatre of Dreams who for legal reasons we cannot name in this piece.

The player, who famously said  "once a blue always a blue" is set to sign for what he has described as "the club he would have supported if his brothers and one time employed father had let him".

The player apparently agreed the move as soon as he heard the he would be playing alongside Thierry Henry and Samual Eto.  "That is the team I always pick on Championship manager, so I know we will all score loads of goals" he quipped to our undercover reporter who was dressed as an 84 year old bag lady.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

If you want to recreate the excitement of transfer-window-silly-season-ness just buy a copy of a footy management game, then email yourself the names of half a dozen of the players you find doing well in said game.

Tell yourself in your email that you heard it from a friend of your sister's best mate's fanny-washer's soap supplier's husbands. And that it's nailed on, because they supply soap to wash the fannies of all the top footballers wives.

Or something.

MESSI ON RED ALERT- BARCELONA IN SHOCK

Barcelona officials were stunned last night when , with just one match left in the fight for La Liga title Argentinian star Messi submitted a transfer request .sources inside the Barcelona camp have reluctantly confirmed that Messi has indeed asked for a move but Barcelona have not yet officially responded to the request.Meanwhile Messi's agent has shed more light on the issue "Liverpool asked for permission to speak with my client and Barcelona refused , Messi at that moment was not actively seeking to leave Barcelona but he did want to hear Liverpools proposal and is not happy that Barcelona have refused him that opportunity , his mind now seems set on exiting the Nou Camp .Meanwhile Messi a long time friend of new Liverpool midfielder and Argentine international Masherano was quoted in Argentine newspapers as saying "I speak to Masha on a regular basis, he is very happy at Liverpool , everybody knows the English league is the best in the world, I would like to play there and if that happend Liverpool would be the club i would want to play for , I am unhappy that after my service to Barcelona I was not given the chance to speak with them"
Liverpool manager Benitez when asked about this development said " It's true we wanted to speak to Messi, we want to speak with many top players, for the moment however we cannot say anything more"

REDS TO SIGN ARGENTINIAN STARLET

Kris Bazcombe
Liverpool Ecko

Liverpool Football Club today look poised to swoop for Argentinian starlet Diego Maradona in a move that will send shockwaves through the footballing world.  Maradona, perhaps best known to younger fans as the coke-snorting cheeseburger muncher that gets on their parents t!ts for that 'hand of God thing' so very long ago, was in fact a pretty decent footballer a few decades back.  Given Maradona's recent health scares, however, signing him up would seem to constitute a significant risk.

Sources close to the club confirm, however, that manager Rafael Benitez was in fact in negotiations to sign the 17 year old Maradona.  Speaking to reporters late yesterday, Chief Executive Rick Parry has revealed that the expected transfer kitty from new owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks has in fact been poured into developing a sophisticated, albeit cramped, time machine, allowing Rafa to return to 1970s Buenos Aires to convince the young maestro that a move to post-millenia England is the best move for the young Maradona's career.  When questioned about the tight confines of the time machine and Maradona's palpable corpulence, Parry pointed out that the younger edition of Diego Maradona should have no trouble squeezing in along side Rafa to travel back to 2007.  When asked about the dangers of altering the fabric of history by tinkering with the past, however, Parry pretended to take a very important call on his mobile and quickly left the room.

Peter Kenyon could not be reached for comment but rumours continue to eminate from Stamford Bridge that Roman Ambramovich has commissioned a lunar-based death ray that will ensure Chelsea the quadruple next season by reducing all opposing teams to steaming piles of goo.

Liverpool Target Young

Charlton Athletic right back Luke Young has emerged as a potential target for Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez.

Now resigned to losing top target Daniel Alves to Chelsea or Real Madrid, Benitez has turned his attention to the 27 year old fullback, who started his career at Tottenham.

A source close to the club told me: 'We made a bid for Alves, but the money they asked was ridiculous. We will now be focusing our attention on Young'

Benitez knows following their relegation Charlton will be keen to cut their wage bill, and believes he will be able to get Young on the cheap.

Reports are linking Alvaro Arbeloa with a move back to his homeland after failing to settle, and Benitez sees Young as the ideal backup to first choice Steve Finnan
