Nowhere near the player Alonso is. If this does happen (i.e. if this isn't just some story some sportswriter concocted to sell papers), I hope it's as CHL and Mick suggest: he'll come in as a decent bit of cover for the midfield and that we'll still be using the Alonso funds to buy some proper quality. Scott fecking Parker, though...you couldn't make it up, could you?

Depends mate, if it is under 5Mil it could be a good signing and Rafa could use the money to pursue Silva.

Dont rate him.Would be a total waste of money.No where near the class of Alonso but then again theres not many who is.

Just got in from work quite a few have heard about it in work Xabi will be sold on Monday and the deal with Parker will also be finalised on Monday

What is the Xabi deal going to involve? Just cash or is it this reported 22Mil plus Sneijder?

I agree Ace, he is a good player who would be a good squad player for us. I hope we are looking for a little more creativity for our first choice, but as a squad player Parker would be ideal.

I got told 28m plus schnider but there is so many diff scenarios,I guess we will only find out come Monday, hopefully Parker will be just a squad player then

FFS i hope we get wesley + 25 million at least for alonso than i wouldn't mind if we signed parker for cover , good squad player nothing more and is imjury prone as well
