How did you manage to get Flamini and the word "class" in the same sentence? Awful player, never liked that guy. Not to mention his injuries.

Class player but doubt very much if he would come to us even if we wanted him .

Maybe offer him high wages? If Man City and Chelsea can do it despite not being a force at one point, surely the most successful English club in Europe would have a project exciting enough to lure top players.

I'm just not very convinced by our signings so far. Aspas and Luis Alberto are unknowns while Toure may not discover the form that he had at Arsenal. Hopefully we can get 2 more players that can improve the starting 11, such as Sakho, Cissokho or Rami. While some of the teams above us are in transition due to changes in managers, the type of signings they are making give strong signs of intent.

FSG... High wages...  :D

We've practically sold everyone on a considerable salary.

Do you rate him that highly woof?

He was decidedly average at Arsenal until the last year of his contract when he looked pretty effective as a DM.  Hasn't really impressed since going to Milan and he'll turn 30 during next season.

I don't think we'll go anywhere near him.

Southampton are expected to tie up a deal for Wanyama within the next day.

I know we need to be patient when it comes to transfers, but if we're too patient all these perfectly good opportunities will be gone.  Wanyama for 12 is great business in a position we need, he's stated he wants to go to a bigger club than Southampton, and yet we show no interest.  It's not just Wanyama, but other players who are going for extremely cheap right now to lower clubs and we aren't even showing any remote interest.  Players like Esteban Grenaro, Tom Ince and Ricky van Wolfswinkle are getting soaked up for good prices, and if we do wait we will end up paying way too much again.

If Wanyama isn't being looked at then I think it's clear we aren't looking for a DM which IMO is a massive mistake and will leave us open to the same problems we encountered last season

http://www.givemesport.com/358699-liver ... to-almeria?

he would be better off here, he has shown he can compete and could play a bit part for us this year.
if he has to go then a move either to a newly promoted club or the championship would have made more sense

I can't understand why we have spent £9mil on a young Spanish player then send one we do have on loan ! What is the thinking

Makes no sense. If we must, then why Spain? I'm sure there are teams from England that would want him.

Obvious isn't it? Rodgers thinks that Alberto if better/further ahead in his development than Suso.

So Alberto is a first team player then ? Jumping from the Spanish Second Division to the prem.

I'd assume that is Rogers' thinking. Not sure he'll be a nailed on starter but you'd think that Rodgers would have no qualms about playing him in any game. Rodgers has said he can contribute straight away. Not many people have a good idea of what level hes at so we'll just have to wait and see. I certainly won't be dismissing him from the off. Loads of players have taken big steps up and shone.

Loads of players ? I think just as many if not more have taken the step up and failed.

If this guy had it then I have to question why Barce didn't look to secure his services or why Sevilla would happy to sell

If Suso had been on loan in the Championship last year and got 11 goals and 17 assists from 38 games we'd all expect him to get games in our first 11 this season. Don't see the issue myself.

We wouldn't  have to pay £9mil for that privilage. Suso instead was playing prem games for us. I would also wager that the championship is stronger than the Spanish second Div.
