Regarding Mata's release clause, did he not sign a new contract in January that had a ridiculous release clause? I struggle to believe it's as low as some have quoted

Those mega buy out clauses are only applicable to Spanish clubs mate.

In which case Arsenal would have to pay whatever the hell Valencia want.

That's little money for a player like that. Wouldn't want us to buy him a year or two later for something like 18.5 mill when he's now available for a lot less and it is clear that the lad has skill.

Also, I must admit, Arsenal have always been great in terms of transfers, they always get good players for little money. They just signed fecking Gervinho for 10 mill. A hell of a bargain for that kind of player. Wouldn't be surprised if they pull off this Mata-for-15mill thing.

I'd of had Nzogbia as well, think he is a very good player and can play left back as well as left wing at a push.
Decent price for less than 10 million.

I agree completely, been saying that for a while, he can play in a number of positions also.

Didnt he go to Villa last week for 9.5 ??

He's close, but not there yet.

If Mata is genuinely up for grabs then I have faith that we will be in for him. We can't offer him CL football this season but we could offer him more coin.

On Rodallega - I would like to see him at Anfield. Impressed last season and can play in a variety of positions. I would welcome him to Anfield if the rumours are true.

Mata is tailor made for Arsenal for be we are going a different route. Secondly they have the Champs league and boys like Mata want to be in that. I would love us to bid but truth is at this moment the lad is more likely to choose Arsenal over us like it or not. We have our thing going on, British heart with width and Mata looks like a kid who enjoys tapping the ball about.Furthermore we have a ton to get off the books before any more can go on.

Sky Sports sources understand Chelsea's interest in Scott Dann depends on whether the Blues can get a work permit for Serbian defender Slobodan Rajkovic.

Rajkovic was signed by Chelsea from Serbian club OFK Belgrade in 2007 and has since been loaned out to Eredivisie outfits PSV Eindhoven, FC Twente and Vitesse Arnhem.

But he has returned to Stamford Bridge and played in the Blues' pre-season tour.

The 22-year-old is very highly rated by new Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas but he does not as yet have a UK work permit.

It is understood if the Blues manage to get one for him, they will not spend any more money on centre-halves.

However, if they fail to get the work permit, Birmingham ace Dann is one of two targets that the Stamford Bridge outfit are closely monitoring having studied DVDs of the player and watched him in pre-season.

Liverpool are also keeping a close eye on Dann - who was born on Merseyside and is a lifelong fan of the Reds - but it is understood they would need to off-load players first before making their interest formal.

A deal to take Dann to Stoke previosuly broke down because personal terms could not be agreed but it is understood that deal is not totally dead in the water yet.

If this is true i wont be happy, i mean the part that we want him but need to sell first.
If that's the case we should have signed him before Henderson for me.
Centre half should be a priority.

Out of all the deals this summer so far, I just dont get the Henderson deal.

Ok Downing may be a bit on the pricey side, but we do need a winger, he has bundles of prem. experience

Charlie Adam do we really need him?? but for the money we paid for him I believe we have got a very good deal considering his age and prem. experience.

But the Hendo deal I just do not get it, when you consider his age, possibly too young to make an instant impact because of the abundance of midfielders we have already, and the fee!!?? absolutely mind boggling.

Somebody enlighten me please

I haven't seen enough of him to judge so prepared to give him time and trust Kenny.

I will be concerned though if in buying Henderson it means we don't get a left back and a centre half.

If we are looking to sell before we buy then I can't see any more signings, the players we want rid off are just so bad nobody else wants them.
