Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Is Pochettino a better manager than? No.
Are Chelsea more likely to win the league or CL? No.
Is Chelsea more prestigious a club? No.
So it's a case of 'I don't want to live in Liverpool.' What a *****.

I'm not convinced its all about him wanting to live in London over Liverpool. Chelsea are very likely oiling the wheels and throwing large bundles of cash at his agent and no doubt offering Caicedo a wage that we may potentially struggle to/not be willing to match. It sounds like Chelsea have been working on a deal him for a while so maybe he is just set on them.

He was due a medical yesterday, but his agent told him to hold off.

I think both are getting back handers from Chelsea off of the books. They've said everything they can to hopefully make us pull out of the deal, but we are sticking with it.

I think the chavs are now panicking knowing they simply can't pay £115m without breaking FFP, so are hoping they can structure a deal somehow.

Brighton set a deadline that's already passed, so they are not helping procedures either.

We should be the one setting deadlines to both Brighton and Caicedo. If we walk away it'll be Brighton that loses out. So they need to pull their finger out in this transfer.

Chelsea declared their interest in him months ago and moved to agree terms back in May ahead of a potential move. No one else showed him their hand so maybe he is a decent lad and wants to honor what he's agreed with a club who showed that they really want him. If it was the other way around we would want him to do the same wouldn't we. Either way he's going to have to make a decision himself and put a deadline up for Chelsea to get it done.

Maybe if we did this right and sounded him out before the bid we would know where we stood. Klopp speaks to every player we sign before a bid is even made so why not this time.

Lost the link but while browsing around I saw a report that we went in for Caicedo only after "people" in his camp contacted us suggesting he would be very interested in a move to LFC.

Make of it what you will, maybe it was just a ploy to encourage a bidding war to drive up his price and inflate the pay off for the suits that manage him ?

If that is the case and the club should know, we should walk away on principle whether we need him or not. No player is bigger than the club and its reputation. If it was Real Madrid they would have black listed him.

Whole thing is a game being played. Strongly suspect we'll get Lavia and Caicedo will go to Chelsea in the end

Yeah I've always thought this would be the most likely outcome. Sounds like all along Lavia has wanted us and Caicedo has wanted Chelsea. We only ever get some of the story so I never get too hot and bothered until the outcome is complete but it's funny watching some fans lose their Sh*t because of stuff on Twitter and Sky.

Unless the game is money laundering I can't see any winners lads   We upped the stakes on Caicedo's price and they did it with Lavia. Silly carryon altogether and as you say we will never know the full story.

Don't know how folks can bear that twitter. Some no, pretty much everything on it is shyte. Some no name says something and it's gospel.  It's all bad though, The Echo is a total rag as well. Its full of misleading headlines and constantly mugs you for clicks to read the rest of their nothing shyte. That bugs the hell out of me far more tbh.

Amazingly Chelsea have offered him a nine year contract to split the 115m and somehow meet FFP requirements. They have done that with all the players they have bought, surely that shouldn’t be allowed as it’s clearly a way to get round the rules. You would think that is a time bomb that will hit that cub, hopefully sooner rather than later.  I hate those cheating w@nkers.

The Mail are reporting that Chelsea have offered £55 million for Lavia, thats 5 million above Southhamptons asking price and 7 million more than our last offer.

Seems there's some tit for tat going on between us and the Chavs

It feels like River Dance. The camera is in the upper body and face and it seems like nothing is going on, the camera pans out and those feet are moving a mile a minute.

Cannot see a player accepting a 9 year contract at his age and reputation

What a mess. I yearn for the days when we would identify players 12 months in advance and get our business done early.

Should we walk away. LR.
Liverpool have bid £111m which is a British transfer record for Moisés Caicedo but the player has rejected Liverpool in the hope to play for Chelsea.
Does this scream a Red Flag for a player who wanted Arsenal in January but Brighton rejected the £70m bid from the Gunners, so Caicedo ended up signing a new and massively improved contract with Brighton, then with Chelsea chasing him all Summer long it seems like he was destined to go to West London.
But Liverpool have come in with a British transfer record bid for Caicedo and BrIghton have excepted it, but the player wants Chelsea.
Now is this because Caicedo just wants to live in London or because they are offering him more wages than Liverpool.
But for me If Caicedo is rejecting Liverpool for Chelsea a team that is in transistion and although Todd Boehly as only had one full season at Chelsea they well and truly fell away and dropped down the table and ended up finishing in 12th place and nowhere near winning a trophy.
They do look like a team that is a risk because Todd Boehly got rid of a great manager on Thomas Tuchel who won them the Champions League and replaced him with Graham Potter (Are you kidding me) then Bruno Saltor before moving onto Frank Lampard FFS, now they have Pochettino, but for how long before a string of bad results and then he is sacked.
You have the feeling that Todd Boehly will replace managers just like Abramovich did and that Chelsea will struggle with a new owner getting used to English football.
But at Liverpool a Worldwide brand with a stable system and one of the absolute best managers in World football  with our enormous and incredible fans base and to play at Anfield and a brilliant chance of playing Champions League football for next season.
Yet Caicedo still wants Chelsea, so with a player that has only played 53 Premier League games and only 98 career games is he worth a British transfer record of £111m, I don't think so.
Now Liverpool paid big fee's for Alisson £66.8m, but we were getting the best goalkeeper in the World and Van Dijk for £75m but we were getting the best defender in the World, but I feel that Caicedo is not the best DM in the World and is not worth a British transfer record of £111m.
All these ridiculous transfer fee's came about because of Neymar's £198m move from Barcelona to PSG in 2017, but in reality Caicedo is probably woth £50m with Lavia being worth £25m.
But if Caicedo was to get a long term injury, then Liverpool are back to square one and £111m down.
£111m could buy Lavia, Dewsbury-Hall and another Central Defender to give us squad strength.
So should we walk away from a player that does not want to be at Liverpool because it's an absolute no brainer to link up with MacAllister in midfield with one of the greatest football insitutions on World football and a proven winning manager in Jugen Klopp.
Also if Brighton value him at £100m and Chelsea eventually bid up to £80m, why are we coming in with a £111m bid when £100m was sufficient, this seems like desperation from the Liverpool board because of the backlash from the fans if Liverpool do not sign a quality DM before the season starts.
