As a squad player bulking out several positions, he won't be needed too often.
How many post matches have ended with us all agreeing that we need a deeper squad.

With the Ox signing, either he or Lallana or Salah or Mane or Sturridge or Bob or dare I say it Phil can keep the bench warm.
It's going to be a long long long season...

Mahrez is a much better player and he's seemingly going for 45 mill. Game changer as well. Hope he stays at Leicester.

I don't know what to make of the ox really wanted lemar who would ave been a real threat and scored goals. Still really hope we get VVD cause we are gona struggle when teams sit back and park the bus and just hit long balls and hit us with set pieces

I don't mind him as a squad player then replacing with Salah or Mane for the last 15 minutes. He's a winger nothing more nothing less.

I think all that stuff about being desperate to play CM etc was just a way of voicing his displeasure and an excuse to get out of Arsenal. No way would Klopp give any guarantees like that especially to someone who will probably be a squad player.

I really like Mahrez myself but I don't think he is disciplined enough for Klopp.

To be fair the last injury on that list was 2 seasons ago when the lad was 21/22, if you looked at Gerrard's injury record he was much the same when he was that age. Chamberlain is a lot bulkier now than when he first started out so maybe like Gerrard he was just growing into his body.

If getting Ox means we're no longer getting Lemar then we will all be p!ssed off!!

If we get Ox and still get both Lemar and VVD then I think it will have been a very successful window.

Bit of a head scratcher for me. His injury record is not good and he never really seemed to have anything special about him. Reminds me of Milner with more pace and him wanting to play central also reminds me of Milner as that is what he said when he came. We tried Milner in central midfield and he was average so we started to play him as a left back because we still needed his engine without the responsibility of dictating play, I hope Ox will not be the same. Winger knows football so there was a reason he played him as a wingback.

Still, I have faith in Klopp's eye for players he wants even though he may not have been first choice. If he really was a Liverpool supporter as a kid then all the better.

I think this lad is going to be a great player for us, Arsenal's tiki taka style of football didn't suit his game and I think he knew it himself, that's why he wanted out.
Playing in a team that plays the game at a high tempo and surrounded by players like Coutinho, Mane, Firmino etc this lad has the potential to be devastating.
By all accounts Jurgen has had his eye on him for years and identified him early on as a player who would fit his philosophy perfectly. The last person Klopp had that hunch about was an inconsistent forward playing for Southampton who only turned up one game in every five. What was his name again?

Lemar was a pipe dream. Monaco had sold half their team and had already recouped over £300m so the odds of getting him were always going to be slim. We probably went for Ox the moment we realised that Lemar wasn't going to happen which is exactly what a club should do with less than 48 hours left in the window and a gap to fill in the squad.

Yep, if we get VVD we are bona fide title contenders, we may even be without him.

Turns out Alex Oxlade Chamberlain not only turned down the league champions to come here he also took a big pay cut as well. That's the type of player I want at our club.
