Liverpool fullback Emiliano Insua is being linked with a move to Spain.

Talk of Aurelio going to Olympiakos on a free at the end of the season.

Shame. Really like him as a player but never fit unfortunately.

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has targeted Bolton central defender Gary Cahill.

Benitez's bid for Cahill depends on whether the Spaniard stays at Anfield and if he is given funds by a new regime at Liverpool.

The Merseyside giants have informed Bolton that they are interested in signing Cahill but Liverpool will face competition from Spurs for the 24-year-old.

Cahill is contracted to Bolton until 2011/2012 but Bolton may be willing to sell him for a big fee in order for Owen Coyle to strengthen the Trotters squad in the summer.

Liverpool are reportedly hot on the heels of 19-year-old starlet Georginio Wijnaldum of Feyenoord.

According to the Daily Mail, the club are being forced to alter their transfer strategy this summer in the face of mounting financial problems.

Coupled with recent news that the club is up for sale having drafted in new chairman Martin Broughton, the Reds are believed to be looking towards younger stars with smaller price tags.

Traditionally the Anfield side have targeted established players for big money, but that is all set to change this summer.

However, given the Reds' financial situation, acquiring Wijnaldum would be good business for Rafael Benitez.

The talented Rotterdam born midfielder has scored four times this season in 31 Eredivisie outings.

Rafa Benitez hopes to entice West Ham centre-back Matthew Upson to Anfield this summer.

The Liverpool boss is looking to boost his defensive options and has earmarked the England international centre-back as the man to do the job.

With West Ham United struggling this term, the 31-year-old former Arsenal man is looking to leave the east London side in the hopes of furthering this hopes of a regular spot in Fabio Capello's England starting eleven. Upson made noises about wanting to make a move to a Champions League level club last summer and a move to Man City was mooted until the Eastlands side opted to bring in Joleon Lescott and Kolo Toure.

With Anfield owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett confirming their intention to sell the club Rafa will be hoping to get some financial backing in the transfer market this summer to help the club improve on what has thus far been a very poor season.

If Rafa is not able to get sufficient funds from any prospective new owners then he will have to offload players from his under-performing squad to fund such transfers. The likes of Albert Riera, Ryan Babel and Yossi Benayoun have all been linked with moves away from Anfield this summer and could help hand Benitez the necessary cash.

Liverpool are continuing talks with AC Milan goalkeeper Nelson Dida.

The 36-year-old Brazilian is off contract in June and can move to Anfield on a Bosman this summer. tribalfootball.com revealed contact between Liverpool intermediaries and Dida representatives last month.

And itasportpress.it says talks have been continuing in recent weeks.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez needs to find quality cover for No.1 Pepe Reina, with Diego Cavalieri to be allowed to return home to Brazil next season.

Nice pay packet i think

Apparently one of Rafa's transfer targets this summer is Hugo Rodallega from Wigan after the Wigan chairman stated that he would let their big name players leave if top clubs came calling.

Lots of people I know seem to rate him quite highly.. I havent seen much of him really. Could be a good backup for Torres though from what i hear and would probably be fairly cheapish.
