Looks like Ings will be joining us, apparently he's having talks with us next week to discuss personal terms, the word is he's not interested in Spurs and only wants to play for us.
The fee will be set at a later date by a tribunal, probably somewhere around the £5m-£6m mark.
The deal will be formally completed on July 1st when his Burnley contract runs out.
Plenty of papers including the Echo seem to think the deal is as good as done.

Hi Sabre, good too see you're still around mate   :)

As for Ings there's definite interest from Liverpool, 90% expectation he'll be with us next season.

How good is he ? Not sure to be honest, haven't really watched him or his club, maybe some of the other lads in the forum can further expand on him.

Depressing this Ings stuff. Nowhere near good enough. Add that to Origi coming in, to be fair he looked decent in world cup but he's now been voted into lige 1 worst team of the season. And the French league let's face it is poor.

This has just got moneyball written all over it, signing an out of contract promising young player for a nominal fee.

Filling our squad with more mid-table-lower league players. Good God this is depressing. Look's like Ings is ours and I hope the lad does really well at us but I am not holding my breath. This crappy transfer committee needs to be given the bullet. Really haven't got a clue what they are doing

Apparently Sky Sports's sources are saying that Milner has held talks with both us and Arsenal, Paul Joyce of the express seems to think Milner will sign for us.

Milner would be a good versatile addition to the squad but isn't going to improve us massively. This is not inspiring stuff and I hope we have we have a few tricks up our sleeves this window because the likes of Ings, Milner and an over priced potentially not suited to our style of play Benteke, are not going to improve anywhere near enough

They need to send Origi back out on loan, he's clearly not gonna be ready for the premier league. Having Origi, Ings and Sturridge would probably mean BR wouldn't be bringing anymore strikers in..

If that is the case then it is indeed depressing because Sturridge is injury prone, Ings will be used like Lambert, and Origi will more than likely score as many goals as Ballotelli.

We need speed up top, someone like Lacazette or Vietto.

To be fair neither Milner nor Ings are bad players but neither are Henderson, Allen, Lallana etc. None of them are top quality though, and if we want to improve only top quality signings will do. Most of those top quality players are unavailable for us but not all of them. If we try hard enough we might be able to bring in someone like Lacazzete or Khedira maybe. Thing is, we're not even trying.

They're only doing as they are instructed to by the powers above. They're just doing their jobs that they're employed to do.

Fooking sick to the teeth reading about us going hell for leather after players like Ings, Milner and Benteke  :help  You's can blame committees all you's want but rodgers is all over these deals.  :nod

We are the team with the least crosses in the whole league and we are hell bent on spending a fortune on a lad that crosses happens to be the strongest part of his game. Whats worse is that he will be expected to play rodgers way and it won't suit him. More square pegs and round holes  :help
