Pretty much what has already been touted really, but have been told we are trying to move Pennant on. Bentley will goto Spurs in the next few days and expect Ince to make a move for Pennant as a replacement.

I always liked Pennant but if we need the cash to get a better quality player to Liverpool (get 5m-6m for him) I am all for it.

I think we will get atleast what we paid ( 6.5m? ) maybe a little more, rafa doesnt make a loss on HIS signings much, then needs must i suppose. Even though i'll stick my head out and say 7-8. Now come all the posts saying i'll snatch their hand off for 7m, but bare in mind he's not a bad player still youngish and was starting to get back in the national set up, he looked good in that extended run of league games at the end of the season, scoring and providing, he's always been a good provider in the prem.

6-8 mil for Pennant - 6 Mil for Arbeloa - and possibly 6 Mil for Yossi to Man City (in the mail today) and i think thatll be enough to bring in the last two signings Barry and David Silva . Job Done!!!!!

how does that work then? that'll be £18 million from the sale of 3 players and Barry alone will cost us.... oh yeah, £18 million.

I doubt we are going to get Silva, I don't know why but I do think if we get Barry then thats the end of our transfer summer signings

I've even worked that out with my scientific calculator and it still doesnt add up

you forgot that that rafa is a vgood negotiator he will get silva at £1 a year over next 10million years

Its in all the papers that Blackburn will make an offer when Bentley goes for Pennant, but for significantly less than the 6 million or so we want.
If thats the case then we should f'ck them off, its a blatant show of a club knowing we are in need of the money so chancing there arm. If Bentley goes for as much as the 17 million being suggested then i would expect Pennant to be worth the 6 we are supposedly asking.
If they dont offer that then keep him.

TBH I'd hope that the money we get from Pennant and any other sales would be used on a winger. If Pennant goes then we are extremely short on wide players (like we're not already) and Kuyt is not a long term solution.

As long as we get around £7m for Pennant then it'll be good business and maybe Rafa will see sense and use the money towards Silva and NOT Barry!!

we loose pennant and then we are left with no natural width what so ever - forget barry we dont need him and go for silva

Silva is rumored to be available for 15 million quid , if we sell pennant we should get 5 to 6 million for him , we can pay that upfront and the rest in installments becasue we have such cra.p owners who haven't given us money to spend

silva is the one player i would like us to sign - think would be a signing that would certainly give us a great chance to challenge for title . his value will go up after this season as well .
