The Rivals: Benitez to move for Silva, Distin and Aquilani

Benitez plans triple raid - The Independent
Liverpool will use £17 million of the £30m they have raised from the sale of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid to sign Alberto Aquilani, the Roma midfielder. Officials at Anfield also plan to meet with Valencia this week to discuss a deal for David Silva, while a second offer for Sylvain Distin also remains a possibility.
Gary Jacob's verdict: the Aquilani deal appears more likely, as it would leave Liverpool with the funds (compared with the cost of trying to sign Silva) to sign a fourth centre back. They bid £2m for Distin, who has been looked at by Aston Villa and Tottenham.

not really.. Kelly looked impressive going forward because he was played as RB not CB... hes good on the ball but that means fck all in terms of him being considered good enough for CB.... think we need someone with a little more experience... Kelly however, would make good cover for Johnson and i'd have him in there ahead of Degen who also surprisingly seems pretty good going forward... defensively though, its official, hes clueless !
