They won't sell to Madrid meaning he'd rather stay at Valencia than come to England. Young family another on the way and doesn't want to be in the rain in Liverpool.... Surely if he really wants to go they have to sell him or he'll walk away on a free. Poor poor business on Valencia's part imo.

Good striker but too much considering his age.

hes 27 so his age shouldnt be the biggest problem.. the way i see it we either bring in a winger who would fit in our system with no troubles... or if we decide tog et a striker, we go out and get a world class striker who would force us to change our setup... not many who would do that... etoo, villa, Fabiano, Adriano, Teves, Aguero... etc
Anyone of lower quality would have to be a backup to Torres imo and wouldnt be worth spending much cash on... would rather get Owen on a free to do that, and he wouldnt be half bad...

Santa Cruz for 18 mil is a worse rip off than Glen Johnson.  The lad's late 20's and has only ever had one really good goalscoring season.  His injury record is also a worry for that sort of outlay.  No thanks.  That said, on his day he is a very good striker.

Silva fits the bill for the current system. I hope the rumors about him are true. Although personally I would prefer to change the system and go to 4-4-2. This way we can have more than 1 established top striker rather than 1 top striker and another striker who always starts on the bench.

Like it but very risky having only 3 at the back. Rafa is always a bit defensive anyway so that seems like the opposite of what he would do.  :D
