It was reported in Macedonian media over the weekend that Pandev would probably leave Lazio in January ... Bayern Munich are the favorites to sign him, but the deal is not finalized yet because there is also a strong interest from LIVERPOOL and Tottenham

Ive never heard of him  ???

I don't know much about him Ciggy but I think he's a creative second striker  :)  Only young anyway 24/25 , but can't recall seeing him play.

If the deal for Mascher should not materialize (God forbid), I don't think we should use any money on another central midfielder. We should just keep Momo (who could very well be leaving if Mascher is signed up permanently) along with Stevie, Xabi and Lucas and spend the money in another department (ie central defender, winger or striker) instead. I do sincerely hope that Mascher stays though.

Just fuck right off no chance.

Reds in shock Muntari link

Last updated: 17th December 2007

Liverpool are reported to be weighing up a move for Portsmouth's Sulley Muntari.

Muntari has impressed at Fratton Park since his summer arrival from Udinese and his performances are thought to have alerted Reds boss Rafa Benitez.

Benitez is drawing up his list of targets in the January transfer window and could make a move for Muntari if he is priced out of a deal for Javier Mascherano.

The Ghana international has quickly adapted to life in England and he is a big fans' favourite at Pompey.

The 23-year-old has admitted he would be interested in a move to a bigger club if the chance became available.

"I want to end up at one of the biggest clubs - that is every player's dream," Muntari is quoted as saying in the Mirror.

"Of course I will try my best here and help Portsmouth win many things, and maybe qualify for Europe, but eventually I would like to play for a bigger club."

Rafael Benitez may move for Sulley Muntari

By Charlie Caroe
Last Updated: 9:21am GMT 17/12/2007

The Liverpool manager, Rafael Benitez, could make a move to sign Portsmouth midfielder Sulley Muntari if the Merseyside club fail to secure Argentine player Javier Mascherano on a long-term deal.

Muntari, who only moved to Portsmouth in May, for a club record £7 million from Italian side Udinese, has been integral in the club's good start to the season which leaves them in seventh place going into the Christmas period.

Muntari, 23, said: "I want to end up at one of the biggest clubs. That is every player's dream.

"Of course I will try my best here and help Portsmouth win many things, and maybe qualify for Europe, but eventually I would like to play for a bigger club."

The midfielder has scored four goals in 16 appearances for the club, but started his career at Portsmouth with a red card against Manchester United only his second game.

Muntari, who has won 26 caps for Ghana, may not find support from manager Harry Redknapp for a move away from Fratton Park, but with rumours of Momo Sissoko and Peter Crouch heading towards the Anfield exit then a deal could still be done.

With the transfer window coinciding with the African Cup of Nations in the New Year, Muntari may be hoping he catches the eye of a big club sooner rather than later.

Saw Pandev play against Real last week, and in the league this week, think it was against Juve.  Lad looks class, would like us to sign him.

A video of some of Pandevs goals, he does look good. Alot better then some of the strikers we currently have.

From a fairly good source inside the club, Newcastle and Man City have both placed a bid of 12 million for Peter Crouch which Liverpool have accepted, however Crouch isn't keen.  If the sale goes through Liverpool have lined up Kenwyn Jones as his replacement.

Looks like its down to Crouchy if this happens or not but I hope he stays as I think he currently offers more than Jones.  Although he may be one for the future!
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

I'd prefer Crouch, he's got better feet and can hold up the ball better than Jones!

Well the Kenwyn Jones thing got a mention before and I said he was a good player then, and I still think he is. Whether he is a good enough player to play for Liverpool remains to be seen, but he certainly has some sort of ability. Equally, whether he is actually the striker we need, the "creative number 10" which Saint has managed to convince us all that we need is debateable,bt like all these things, we'll see if we do actually try and sign him. To tell the truth, it seems a bit unikely to me on balance.

As for the 12 mill' for Crouch, I believe that is probably what he is worth and I would take it. When I say it is what he is worth, this would of course be if he played regularly in which case I have absolutely no doubts whatsoever that his name would appear regularly on the scoresheet. For us though, Rafa obviously doesn't fancy him anymore, and given that and our financial position, there is no point whatsoever in us turning down twelve million quid. Hopefully a swift kick in Crouchies nuts by Rafa will convince the big man that his future lies elsewhere.

As for who we do sign if we offload Carson/Sissoko/Crouch or whoever, I really hope that we concentrate on bringing quality into the first team, and not more "options", "possibilities" and "potential". It really is reaching the stage (if indeed we aren't already past the stage) where we need a few top-quality players to kind of make friends with Gerrard and Torres. I'm by no means decrying the likes of Alonso, Carragher and Msherano, nor the "unseen" work which they apparently do, but in terms of match winning, game breaking players we are a bit thin on the ground compared to the other big teams.
