The Premiership - General Discussion

If City want him that bad they will pay near the asking price.

I think he will do well for them around better players, no chance with us last season playing up front on his own
and out of position in s struggling team.

Big clubs don't sell unless they want to but we have fallen so far back its depressing.

Not in footballing terms it's not, Infact its an insult, considering Sterling is only 20 and is already a star for England and is widely regarded as one of the best young talents in Europe City are taking the p1$$.

Not really as he only has a 2 year contract and he is far from the finished article.

I doubt Sterling will ever be the 20+ goals a season striker, but he could be a great winger if he doesnt get an injury that hurts his speed.

Tony Barrett saying increasingly unlikely that Sterling will remain at Anfield.

He was gone months ago

Get a good price and move on - he won't develop unless he has regular football. He won't get that at City etc so he will have to live with his choice

Hopefully the Sterling money won't be cursed like Torres & Suarez.

£50m(-20)+ £65m = £95m

Where is that investment visible in our squad now? Not one world class player is sight.

I fear what kind of reinvestment options we have under the current management and their bizzare, drawn out transfers dealings.

I'd rather take one punt at something we can all agree is quality rather than 4 borini's to fill the seats on the side lines.

The Manchester Evening News are saying City are on the verge of tabling a formal £40m offer for Sterling.
They are saying City are after Pogba as well.

It's almost as if the club have been waiting to sell Sterling before spending any serious money.
3 signings - 3 Bosman's/ free transfers so far

In tomorrow's papers Sterling is saying that he wants to move to City as soon as possible, he doesn't want his preperations for the new season to be disrupted by a long drawn out transfer saga.

Think it's time he is told to shut it and we will do the transfer on our demands not his

City will need to pay the required fee - if they don't then he goes nowhere

Seen that alright.
Its getting a bit much now and the club has a big decision to make over what to do with him as we cannot afford to have this dragging out all summer. He is getting more vocal by the day and making it very clear he doesn't want to play for us anymore.

Would they really be willing to force him to stay and play in the reserves for 2 years or until he gets his act together ?

Personally I'd take the 40mil and chance our arm at getting a player thrown in or a few add on's. I'd take 20 + dzeko in a heartbeat.
