As others have said it looks like it's gone beyond the point of no return with Sterling, the relationship between the club and his agent has been pretty much non existent ever since Ward announced that Raheem wouldn't sign a new contract with us for £900,000 a week never mind £100,000.
It's all about getting the best possible price now.
It is a pity because he has got a lot of potential, you only have to look at the improvement in Hendo between the ages of 21 to 24 to see that Raheem will get a lot, lot better over the next few years.
But is it is pointless keeping a player against his will, especially one that can basically walk away for nothing in 12 months time (if he buys out the last year of his contract).
If we invest the £30m-£40m we get for him in players that come here and do the business then it will have been a great decision to sell him, if we blow the money on bench fodder it won't. It's as simple as that really, success isn't about wether we get an extra £5m for him, it's about what we do with the money. If we sell him for £20m and buy another Suarez with that money then it's a great piece of business, if we get £50m for him and fritter it all away it'll be a disaster. It's not about how much we get but what we do with it.

£40m would only actually be £35m upfront which would only actually be £28m once we've donated £7m to the QPR charity.
Think that's why we're standing firm for £50m so we clear £40m.

Footballer Raheem Sterling was allegedly seen inhaling 'hippy crack' just weeks after he was spoken to by his manager over previous pictures of him using the legal high.
The 20-year-old Liverpool forward was filmed partying on a yacht in Ibiza with a pink balloon in his mouth, it was claimed.
It comes after footage emerged in April appearing to show the England winger breathing in the gas nitrous oxide before passing out as giggling friends looked on.



The Premier League star, who reportedly turned down a £100,000 offer of a new contract with Liverpool, is at the centre of a £50million transfer saga, with Manchester City keen on securing his services.
In the latest footage, the England international can be seen laughing and dancing on holiday with male and female friends, according to The Sun.
The newspaper reports that part of the video shows one of his friends refilling a metal gas canister while Sterling is holding a green balloon.

It is is not illegal to be in possession of nitrous oxide, sometimes also known as 'hippy crack' or 'laughing gas', although it is prohibited from being sold in England and Wales to under-18s if there is a risk they will inhale it.
Stephen Ream, from drugs charity Re-Solv, told MailOnline: 'It's worrying from our point of view as, despite nitrous oxide not being the most-dangerous drug out there, there are risks associated with it in terms of people losing consciousness.
'And from his position as an international footballer, there are concerns about the message his behaviour is sending out.'



Abusing nitrous oxide can lead to oxygen deprivation resulting in loss of blood pressure, fainting and even heart attacks.
FOOTBALLERS WHO HAVE BEEN ACCUSED OF USING HIPPY CRACK
In 2013, England right-back Kyle Walker issued a grovelling apology after he was pictured inhaling the gas during an night out in Sheffield.
He later said: 'I have now been made aware of the health risks associated with the practice and accept that my actions were of poor judgement.'
In the same year, a photo was published showing then-Newcastle striker Nile Ranger inhaling from a balloon at the wheel of his car. The picture appeared on Instagram days before he was involved in a car accident.
Last year, West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino was also pictured apparently inhaling the gas in his car, before reportedly driving from Birmingham to London.
In a statement, Berahino later said: ‘This was very poor judgement on my part and not the right example to be setting.
It was claimed that the footage from earlier this year, which shows the footballer sucking on an orange balloon then laughing and giggling, was taken at his home in Southport.
At the time Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said: 'For me it is something that when you are a professional sportsperson at the top level of the game, I don't think it is something you should be doing. It is as simple as that.
'But I will speak to him on it, to see what he says on it.'
Sterling was also criticised earlier this year after photos were published of him allegedly smoking a shisha pipe, which is also legal but is detrimental to health.
Sterling has scored 23 goals for Liverpool and has played 16 times for England.
A host of top clubs including Arsenal, Real Madrid and Chelsea have been linked with the attacking midfielder.
Yesterday it was revealed that Manchester City had failed with a renewed bid for the star despite increasing their offer by £10million.
The Merseysiders flatly refused £25million plus £5million-worth of add-ons last week and, despite a considerable improvement, they are still not inclined to sell for anything below their valuation of at least £50million.
Both Liverpool FC and Sterling's agent were unavailable for comment this morning.

If I was DoF at City I'd have serious reservations about spending £50m on someone who carry's on like that, if Rodgers can't get through to him there's no guarantee that Pellegrini can either.
The lads a talent but £40m-£50m is a f**king lot of money, even for oil sheiks.

Apparently, City are preparing a final £45m bid for Sterling (though they said the last one was final as well). It's good that we're not bending over for anyone and we're not lowering our price but I think we shouldn't risk it anymore. £45million is good money (about £36-7m for us because 20% go to QPR) and if City back out we'll be left with an unhappy player who doesn't want to play for us, and because of that he won't perform well (unlike Suarez).

If Sterling doesn't leave this summer it won't end well for us. Take the money and run.
