What about that Crouch and SWP interview afterwards, anyone got a link or pic of SWP standing on a box? He was nearly as big as Crouchy.

And again. I would start picking him over rooney. Like he did at Liverpool, crouch scores goals, so why he is constantly overlooked just baffles me.

He can start with Rooney too and I really hope he does. His goal scoring record speaks for itself. Heskey goes to ground far too much imo.

A win or a draw sees them through. A defeat and Uruguay claim the final automatic spot. At that point Argentina would then be relying on a draw or a Chile win in the Ecuador-Chile encounter in order to claim the play-off spot (which would be against Honduras or Costa Rica). If Ecuador win and Uruguay win, they are out, simple as that.

I think this a very tricky fixture for the Argies. Away against a fairly decent team with a very experienced manager.

I'd be inclined to say DRAW or URUGUAY win as the Argies don't seem to have the tactical nous to hold out for a draw, and we know how weak they've been defensively.

1-1 or 2-1 Uruguay.

Am off to bed to watch this one now. Should be very very interesting with so much riding on it for both teams.

Well, it wasn't exactly "very very interesting" as I thought it would be :D. The intensity and nervousness was definitely there, but chances were very few and far between. Also it didn't help that both teams were constantly fouling each other and thus breaking up the play. I'm still left baffled by Diego's selections though, in which he changes rather many players from game to game (I think I read somewhere he had called up 70 different players during his reign ???). Anyways they are going to the WC, and in all probability Uruguay are too, as they should be able to overcome Costa Rica in a two-legged playoff me thinks (though they did fail at that very task against the aussies last time around I think).

North Queensland Fury 1-1 Wellington Pheonix. Just watched the second half, awful game but North Queensland came back from 1-0 down with an equaliser five minuites from time from God himself. He didn't do much throughout, but plonk it on his napper twelve yards out and there's only ever going to be one conclusion. Great header, keeper never moved and the spoils were shared.

The commentators give him maximum respect in fairness to em (possibly even too much on occasions) and if Robbie even chests it down nice there is plenty of "ah unbelieveable first touch there from Fowler" but I can't help thinking while I'm watching it that I wish they could have seen him just for a game or two at his prime. I have (very) vague memories of a game at anfield against Villa which I think we won 3-0 where Robbie smashed one in from 30 yards and maybe even got a hat trick (it is a very vague memory, it might even be a montague of a couple of matches :D ) but anyway, I think at that time or about the time when he was scoring hat-tricks against the rock solid Arsenal defence in five minutes, Robbie was at his absolute best. Feck me, he'd get about five per game for North Queensland fury if he was like that now.

Quick footnote: Neither him nor Ian Ferguson (ex Rangers player, now his manager) read this, but this is what they should do. I like the front player they have (Mcbreen or something, big English style centre forward. Clueless but willing) and they should hit him a lot earlier and get round him. I'd move the Aboriginal guy (Williams?) from left midfield into the centre as he's a box to box midfielder if ever I've seen one. Hit it long and early to the big guy, get the Abbo fella doing the miles and tell Robbie to stop tracking back and all that old b0ll0cks. If they did that they'd go well in the A league IMHO. As a measure of the standard, Paul Iffel (ex Millwall and Sheff Utd) looks class up top for the Pheonix (and he is decent in fairness) while Chris Greenacre (ex everyone including Scarboro and a player I know well) looks Ok up top too.

Anyway, get the Abbo bloke in central midfield and go route one. Simple.

That Pato is amazing
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Aguero had a good chance at the beginning. We should try to make a move for 1 or 2 of their players in the summer, maybe Simao or Maxi.
