Torres out for rest of season!

I dont think we can win the europa cup without him :(

Rafa is most likely gonna put N'gog upfront, maybe with Kuyt behind him. We are gonna struggle for goals.

Rafa should be able to see by now that N'gog isnt good enough, he isnt going to score us goals. Babel is a far better option. I would even rather have Pacheco.

AEK have just finished their last game of the season today... maybe Nemeth could come back and replace N'gog? :D

I actually don't agree mate. The winner of our semi final has got to be favourite, and over two legs I think we'll beat Athletico even without Torres. I don't think we'll put in a  sparkling performance in either leg, they won't be selling DVD's of a glorious night of flowing football, but I still back us to edge through. 1-1 over there followed by an edgy 0-0 at Home would be the kind of result I'd be putting money on, and to be fair given what's gone before I should think most of us are long past caring how we actually do it, just so long as we do.

Equally, although I don't think N'Gog is up to it, he isn't absolutely awful or anything. He can score a goal, is honest and will run all day. Like I said I do think Babel is a better bet, but I'm pretty confident TBPH about the Europa thing.

This has been an awful season and we've been short of a striker ever since Keane was sold

My sentiments exactly mate...this has been a total and complete ku.nt of a season all round....

Why the smiley ? I'd give him a lash, maybe not the whole game...he's been injured quite a bit for them this season so he hasn't played a whole lot of footie over there.....

sorry its just 2 points behind us but we can go 5points clear with a win 2moro against west ham. So if we dont win 2moro even more pressure if thats possible to stay ahead of our closest enemy!

Really I didnt know that  :Oo: look no further than twit & tw@t and wonder why our backup for Torres cost 1.5 million pound David Ngog !!!

But Twit and :censored: didn't spend the remaining £35-38 million on a full-back and an injured midfielder Lynds. There's no getting away from that in my eyes.

I still think we could get around it if Rafa was more creative wiyth the players we have but I imagine we will try and get by with either Ngog or Kuyt upfront on their own and Stevie stuck in a completely impotent role behind them.

sooner this shoddy season is over the better. All i ask is the mancs don't win the title. :(

Agree with that.

They'll have the better strikers on the pitch for sure but we've a special ability to turn games grim when we need to. Keep it tight and there's enough in Gerrard, Kuyt, Babel, Benayoun... to see us nick something over the two legs. There's no better incentive than a final after the season we've had.

We gotta put kuyt upfront. Gerrard has to go right side of midfield. Now i know riera has fooked up, but, could rafa use him?? I dont know, but it takes a big man to do that! Aquilanni behind kuyt with lacus and masch in centre. Babel on left. Give Pacheco a chance for 40 mins 2nite against west ham.

Also, win 2nite, allay fears of neverton catchin us and lose to chelsea so mancs dont win 4 in a row. If we dont win europa and come 7th are we not in europe next year?

Well only time will tell i suppose. Im just worried that we just wont have enough in us to find the goals and we will get caught on the break as usual

Its fun supporting liverpool  :D

bigmick wrote:Hopefully the lad recovers quickly enough to represent his country in the World Cup fully fit, he deserves that much at least. As for us, I've thought for a while now that we ought to give Babel a shot, and now is certainly a good opportunity. Yes I know he's a doughnut and he does our fecking head in at times, but I'm absolutely convinced that not only is he better than N'Gog, but he does actually have something.

The goal he scored in France in the Champions League wasn't a fluke, there is explosive talent there and if we can only harness it, he could be a player. At the very least it'll get him fit for the World Cup where if he gets a game it might stick a couple of mill' on his transfer fee.

What's our options? N'Gog, Kuyt or Babel. My preference would be to go for Babel, and feck it play Aquilani in behind and drop Gerrard to central midfield. Might as well kill two birds with one stone and see exactly what we've got on our hands for next season.

I fully agree Mick. It is really selfish for us to be thinking if he misses the World Cup it'll be best for us. Look what the lad has done for us. He will be devastated to be missing the World Cup and when Spain has a really good chance of winning it. 4 years on the Spain team might not be as good as now. He is also one of the top strikers in the world who could make a difference for his national team. World Cup is always a big deal for players and even more so for a player of his calibre.

As for Babel, I don't really agree. He has improved tremendously in the attitude department. But he has never shown to possess a striker's finish which even Ngog and Kuyt possesses. He would wack the ball without thinking too much and most of the time it will clear the cross bar. Too much reliance on pace and power and not much reliance on game intelligence. Simply not opportunistic enough for me.

Ngog is the worst signing in a decade!
if Rafa still decides to start him then he is as useless as Ngog.

to think that Crouch, Keane, Bellamy, Anelka used to play for us compared to Ngog now, shown that actually all this decade we are dancing on the same spot and not really improving.

Astonishing. Exactly my sentiment also.
