More points and in some circles depending on which side your loyalties lie less posts   sometimes its hard to distinguish which fans need the proverbial slap on the back more than the teams success ...... answers on the back of a  Birmingham shirt  ???

Disagree.. this is Liverpool FC not Bolton.. he shouldn't have been anywhere near the bench. We need decent back up players.

Pacheco should have been on the bench ahead of him.

Well he's everyones favourite scapegoat (along with Kuyt) - But the fact is he's done an okay job in some games and a good job in others. However all too rarely has he done an excellent job.

Again like the Aquilani stat of 6 league starts : 6 wins, the reverse is spookily true with lucas:

There are only 4 league games that Lucas has not started this season:

A 2-1 win vs West Ham
A 2-0 win vs Bolton
A 4-1 win vs Portsmouth
A 3-0 win vs Sunderland.

Whenever Lucas starts on the bench – we win!

True, in Aquilani’s starts, and Lucas’s non-starts, you could argue about the quality of the opposition…..  but you can only beat who you’re put up against whether you’re in the starting 11 or not.

Until Aquilani is tested in the league against better quality opposition, we wont be able to judge him, same for this silly stat… until Rafa drops Lucas in one of our “tougher” games, we wont know whether there is any substance at all in this  -

But I do find the coincidence quite funny : Aquilani starts in the league: 100% win record   - Lucas not in the starting 11 : 100% win record

Ultimately the fault lies with Rafa, not with Lucas. Rafa picks Lucas alongside mash when he shouldn’t. We all know it doesn’t work, but Rafa still does it, so we can’t really blame Lucas, but I would like to see lucas dropped more in favour of a Mash-gerrard or mash-aquilani partnership in the centre

When he is on the field, we don't play football. No one can defend his performance tonight. Invisible.

17th loss this season for which hes been in the center of midfield.

If he plays next week, rafa should walk.

Nothing like a bit of knee jerking - are you going to say the same amount other players from tonight ? Babel ? Insua ? Carra ? Who made the mistakes that cost us the game andnot Lucas ? What about torres , gerrard or masher or Johnson who were all poor tonight

I'm sorry i cant handle him (lucas) being in our team. The word "invisible" to describe him tonight was from the commentator on 5 live.

The damage he does being in THE single most important position slap bang in the center where all the play goes through...is devastating. You can get away with a c'rap winger (Ray Parlour) or c'rap full back (Phil Neville) and still be successful as they ain't central to the play... a central midfielder is. Its the SINGLE most influential position on the field, the link between defence and attack, the orchestrator of play... and we have a brazilian carthorse in there.

We were outstanding at the weekend with incisive, crisp, creative passing and excellent service to the attack for once... when lucas on the bench. We dont play football when he is on the field.. and 17 losses with him later its infuriating.

I can't blame him only for the loss today, I thought he was poor as the majority of the players were, especially Insua.

Yeah you can't totally blame him for the loss. Torres missed two golden opportunities( first a long throw that got him pass the defense in the first half and the second half through ball from Kuyt that he missed wide left). Carra putting his hand up for the second penalty (although it looked like reflex more than anything). I thought Agger looked shaky in the back for most of the game too.

You really have to take advantage of the goal scoring opportunities because they are few and far between when Lucas is in the game. It makes Torres's job that much harder when he only has one or two real chances and it makes every miss critical.
