I think having a trading deadline in America makes more sense than the stupid transfer window here. In American sports, team who is out of the playoff by the time of the trading deadline can look to dump salary to other contending team. So, losing team can save some money for rebuilding next year while the contending team can strengthen themselves for the playoff. Team can still make trade after the trading deadline if the player is cleared on waivers meaning if no team pick them up. As for the transfer window here, it really doesn't make sense at all. I would rather to have the transfer window opens until Jan. That would make more sense and should benefit more team that way. Anyhow, the only reason for the transfer window now is probably due to protecting the smaller club not having to strip their best players during the early part of the season and create a even further gap between the top and bottom team. That's only my take though.
