Cheers mate. Wouldn't be surprised to see Agger miss out (need to be careful with him) and the Greek brought in alongside Carra at the back.

We've got a greek player and next thing you know Mr Biased turns up with (some) drivel which makes the worst and most laughable comments on here appear logical, valid and coherent.

He's ok, does a job. Comparing him to Upson is a bit far fetched, a handful of decent performances in a top league after the geek league and SPL doesn't make him Beckenbauer or Hyypia. Was he a bargain? Hardly, you couldn't exactly go wrong for that price but I think his use will be much like Sami last year (19 apps) but not for the same reasons.

I tend to agree with a athens in regards to upson. Soto is bettter at commanding the defence. maybe not with the ball. But upson is better than terry in that department. Soto has done very well and did get us out of the :censored: defensively.

my real concern is Agger. He's poor lately, looks :censored: scared when the ball comes to him. Not cultured atall like his comparison (jocky). He really needs strengthening up. He gets far too many knocks. Skrtel is always gonna switch off. he's a brave defender and no more.
We need an organiser for carra's replacement. I'd like Kjear or Luiz. Wrong topic, but how about Zidan of egypt to work with nando?

Simply going through the fixture/stats abit.. we have conceded only 1 goal out of the 5 matches he started for us and scored 1.
And we conceded 3 in our last 5 matches without him even when Carragher was playing RB (except for the BB match).

He's definitely the better CB available for us at the moment.

EDIT: Correction on the # of conceded goals

hang on - if the greek costs 1.5mill and fills in for 10 or so games a season in which we are able to maintain a good defensive record, then i'd say thats an excellent deal.

He helped turn Liverpool's season around. You guys have never seen a backup who who became a starter??? Why is it so hard to accept? If he had been playoing consecutive games and he was :censored: andthen went on a good run in January I wouldnat have anything to say. But he dominated in his first legitimate opporutinity with the team. So why dump him after a suspension? The only reason skrtel was decent in january is because the presence of kyrgiakos gave him confidence.
When he signed in late august I came on these boards and said that Soto would become a starter in Liverpool. Wtv rafa decides is ok but i dont understand teh supporter mentality. why cant you guys accept that he might be the real deal! he hasnt showed anything to make u think otheriwse. I will stop after this dont worrY.

Greekster you need to chill out. No one is slagging the guy off, every poster here is saying when he`s come in he`s mostly done a good job.

Krgiakos has done well when he has to fill in , with agger performing so poorly , carra as well i won;t be surprised to see him back in the line up against wigan . Rodallega is a big lad and we deffo need to keep a close eye on him. As for Zidan wouldn't want him , cocky :censored: thinks hes better then he actually is , he has loads of pace and a bit of trickery bar his goal against England last night he didn't do anything . He's playing where he is now for a reason and thats about his level , rather spend the money on a winger and a better striker

Another great performance. They had some pressure from quick opposition but Carra and Kyri handled it well. Too bad the game turned out like it did.

we need to keep him at the club for sure... he provides good competition for the centreback slot at the club... our squad depth already sucks with the financial constraints placed on our beloved club... most importantly, we need more quality players with no big egos and will still be happy to bide their time on the bench and take their chances whenever an opportunity arises... only then will we be able to challenge for the BPL title again... :)

Is anyone else of the opinion that this lad deserves more respect and credit than he is given?  It seems everyone seems to say "Oh he's decent, good squad player etc etc"  you know the comments by now.  To me though I think he is better than just a decent player and he has proved that pretty damn consistently imo.

Don't get me wrong obviously he's no world beater but I really would not have a problem playing him against any opposition and that says something about what I think of him.  I doubted him at the start but he hasn't let us down for quite a while now.
