Love the guy, only 31 and doesn't really rely on pace anyway he could be solid for another good 2-3 years.  Our best defender imo.  I'd have him in for Carra more often than not.

Top stuff today...could've had a hattrick up front and he was commanding at the back as well.  Benjani hardly got a touch when he came on.  Nice one Soto!

Great performance. Extremly underrated but he also need someone quick around him to tidy up the few loose balls. Much better than Carragher at the moment.

Thought he had a bit of an iffy start to his time here but when he got a run in the middle of last season he showed his true worth and I think he's a good defender, snip at £1.5m. In the Carra thread people are talking about Carra shining along side a Sami type and Soto could be that man for us at the moment. OK we'd not be passing much from the back much but we don't with Skrtel either. He has shown in the past as well as today that he can nab a goal or two as well. Soto the Wonder Grock   :buttrock

Looked much better out there today with Soto than with Carragher.  If Roy drops him next match, I dont know what I'd do.

The question is who do you play alongside him. Neither Carragher or Kyrgiakos are all that quick, so that probably means:

Carragher        Kyrgiakos       Agger       Konchesky

Carragher isn't the best RB at the club, but his passion/leadership/mongrel probably means you have to make room for him somewhere.
