Verdict: meh. The visuals were cool in parts but 160 minutes is a long time to sit through the 3-D--it's physically taxing and the more kinetic moments of the action gave me the same frustrations as most shaky-cam movies. This whole thing about being completely immersed in a movie is overhyped, IMO. I'd rather sit back from it a bit and be able to see what the feck's going on, rather than being tossed around in the middle of it all.
As for the story line, I enjoyed it a hell of a lot better the first time it came out, when it was called Dances With Wolves.
