Just one question to people on here:
Presuming we get Barry, but we then need to sell Xabi in order to get more funds.
Would you still say we hold on to Xabi and refuse to sell?

I'd rather see the funds that would be going toward Barry's transfer put toward a winger or 2nd striker in the first place and leave Xabi right where he is. IMO, Barry is not a perceptable improvement on Alonso and I'm worried we're going to waste time and money replacing like for like in the strongest area of our squad while leaving our problem positions unaddressed...again.

I agree Bob, but it's undeniable that Rafa is after Barry.
My question was, IF he did get Barry, would you sell Xabi?
Yes or No?

Yeah, I do appreciate what's he's done in his first few years. But he's become substitute material in my eyes. We don't need him anymore, just wasting money.
"Glod" bless America.

then it makes sense to sell?
We more quality up front - there is no point holding on to Xabi if it means we can't then strengthen
up front.

Typical canadian, always trying to find mistakes that their neighbor does and undermining them![]()

I think we need to keep xabi because he is one of our best players, selling him will be a mistake IMO

Exactly my point. He's not trash, but he's useless to us. We don't need him anymore. He's not going to help the attack, and I personally think our defending is strong enough, so why keep him?
